, since I have no clue what's going on with him I'm not going to bother speculating. Then what are you even doing on HoyaTalk? I was going to say he should have his posting privileges revoked if he has that attitude...

Much easier to score when you can stiff arm your defender. Just sayin' you have to know your control of the refs is a lock to actually post laudatory promotional photos in which your guy is flagrantly fouling another player... Having been in the gym, all I can say is Duke fans are as insufferable as ever.

We still managed to pull in some votes this week: 4 in the AP and 1 in the coaches poll. Crazy me but I expected more votes after our play last week despite the 1-3 record. We push #3 and #5 to the brink and neither game was played in DC........

That looks like Trey. But I agree.

Copeland was a beast. I don't feel like he's a great comp for many recent Hoyas offensively, but what about Reggie Williams? I don't the defense isn't there, but what say you old-timers? Actually, he reminds me of Hollis Thompson.

Just dreaming: except for a very few bounces of the ball we could be 4-0 and sitting in the top 10.

My thought would be Michael Graham should be brought in to teach Trey and the rest of the forwards and centers the appropriate response to a guard straight arming you to the face on the way to the hoop!

JTIII is trying a new approach this year - No Spring Melt but a fall Fall. You can't blame him after the past 2 years at the NCAA's No Fly Zone for the Hoyas!

my only 2 real comments about this game on Sunday:
1) govan and peak rode the pine way too long down the stretch. our final lineup should have been DSR peak reggie (but really kaleb if he hadnt fouled out) copeland and govan for a good stretch of the final minutes.
2) since it was clearly the plan to have copeland take the final shot (and I'm okay with that), i think it would've been way better to have DSR bring the ball up past mid court, creating the very convincing illusion that he would be taking the final shot, only to pass to copeland for the final shot. this would've undoubtedly draw 2-3 defenders to DSR, giving copeland a much cleaner look/better shot.

(1) LJ picked up his fourth foul with eight minutes left. He came back in with two minutes left and basically played thereafter (except for some offense/defense subbing in the last minute, which was understandable given the fouls, and except for when we desperately needed a three, which is understandable given the other guys available). Govan had two turnovers on consecutive possessions somewhere in the six-eight minute range and was subbed out immediately thereafter. He also came back in at around the two minute mark (after Trey shot and missed his three). Maybe you could quibble a touch with either of those and argue they should have come in a minute earlier. But it would be just that -- a quibble. (2) I don't think there was much of a plan on the final play other than for the person who got the rebound (it was Copeland) to advance the ball up the court as quickly as possible and look to shoot. I suppose if it had been Govan or Derrickson they would have passed to DSR. But there was only five seconds left, so there wasn't really time to plan on a pass. DSR was calling for the ball once Ike got over half-court, but there was no easy pass to be made. I think they did the best they could under the circumstances. It would be fair to criticize them for not having a timeout left there, but I (for one) like doing what they did since there's a better chance things break down off the miss. I'm guessing they had a play designed for if he had made the foul shot and they needed a three. Coach did have all five of the best three-point shooters on the floor (having just subbed in Marcus and Govan).

In the "if pigs had wings..." category, would we have won all four of our games, if we had Tre and Paul healthy, and if so would we be #1 now?

Fair points. but in regards to #1, we had trey and reggie out there for much of that stretch, which didnt make much sense to me. still all-around great 3-game stretch for the hoyas. we really seem on par with umd and duke, which speaks volumes for an unranked, 1-3 team that has 7 frosh and sophs in the rotation. i smell an 8 game win streak leading up to big east play.

But we would be a solid #2......some good news. Radford beat another named opponent today. I can't remember who but it was a good win....

I thought the game was at 12:30 Left Coast time. I was watching the Carolina/Redskin game and decided to switch over during a break to see how the VCU/Wisconsin game was going. Imagine my surprise to see a score of Georgetown 37, Duke 31. Why on earth was the championship game first?
From the time I tuned in, I didn't hear a single word about our two missing rotation players. Was anything ever said? I can guarantee that if Duke were missing two rotation players, Dookie V would have mentioned it 1,000 times. What a valiant effort by Coach K's boys, without Joe Schmo and Joe Blow! Woaaaaaah!
Damn Grayson Allen, anyway. We may have already faced the two best guards in the country and almost beat both of their teams while short-handed.
