Has the ship sailed on being on Keldon's radar? Judging by reading some of the recruiting sites...I would say so.

When Kentucky got involved, you can guarantee that ship is sailed...

Definitely very little to no chance. Keldon has a shot to be a long time NBA star coming out of HS and the best way to guarantee that currently is Kentucky (10% of ESPN's NBA Top 100 graduated from Kentucky). If they show mutual interest it's over.

The 10% that the article is talking about would be great if they went to any P5 school.....

Zeke, I do agree that it's bogus but at the same time, that pipeline has opened up and Kentucky is one of the first places NBA scouts look.

Choice of college matters little. Kentucky does nothing for them that another big conference school with decent basketball coaching wouldn't do. As proof, the number of recent non-Kentucky round one draft picks is too long to list.

All they add is more exposure because they win. They win mostly because of talent and the only time Coach Cheat won was when he had a team he couldn't screw up. And I still say he screws that team up also if KMarshall doesn't break his wrist......IMO

While it's easy to articulate reasons why Kentucky isn't a great idea, that's still not a good argument in favor of our program. Except for Kaleb being at Georgetown, there is zero evidence to support that Keldon has any real interest at this point and that doesn't surprise me. Our program is a big unknown. While some top 100 players won't care about that, the guys who are viewing themselves as one-and-done's (which doesn't mean they are), are highly likely to go somewhere where they can make the tournament and get exposure. Georgetown is not that school right now.
(For the record, I am not saying Georgetown doesn't offer anything to top players. I just think given the nature of the top players and where we are at - a few poor seasons and a coaching change with a coach that has never been a head coach before - it will be hard to draw them. Not necessarily impossible, but hard. Winning takes care of all this. It's no coincidence that in the aftermath of the Final Four, JT3 got some 5 stars and McDonalds' All Americans.)

Yes they don't get coached up on the court much but Calishadi does focus on the financials and off the court needs of being a professional. Additionally, there are plenty of Top 20 players that fail in the NBA or who's draft stock goes down. That rarely happens at UK. Ugh, now I need to go wash my mouth after talking good about that program.

We were never in the running, and he's far from a lock for Kentucky.

I continue to wonder how Fl State locked up an OV and made his Final 5? Hope he ends up at Texas.....

Turns out that his relationship with Broadus is stronger then with Kaleb. (I'm being facetious)

Turns out that his relationship with Broadus is stronger then with Kaleb. (I'm being facetious) We would be in the top 5 if Broadus was still here. I am very disappointed that things didn't work out between Keldon and the new staff, but I'm still happy with where we stand in regards to recruitment. Getting Keldon would have been huge, but we need more than one good recruit to get us back on top. I am perfectly happy with getting those underrated 3 stars and 4 stars!

Alotta pressure on Shaka to deliver on the roster he currently has this season to reach the Ncaa's. He could've had the keys to Gtown. But we'll see.

I hope he ends up where he wants to go. We will get someone very good.
I don't ever remember Georgetown attracting many huge stars...I don't know that people gave that much attention to ranking systems. But we got some good players that worked like hell and gave other teams the blues##

Maryland source who is well connected is confident Keldon commits to Maryland in the next week or two. That would be a gut punch even though I'm not crazy high on his game relative to his ranking.
