I believe the mike Maddux and Greg Maddux comment to be incredibly accurate. And funny.

Is this any worse than people here wanting the Hoyas to go all-in in terms of pursuing Cole Anthony? If the Hoyas got him that would mean we recruited over point guards we just got. And most of the fans on this site would be okay with that. I get that Johnson is a five star player but Kentucky is always in a position to upgrade and if Johnson and his family didn't realize that they are foolish.

There are plenty of schools for 5 stars to sign with if they aren't I to competition for their spot. ANYBODY signing with a high major conference should be factoring things like that into their decisions, or just strap up and earn their time on the floor.

To be the man, you gotta beat the man. That's SOP at Duke and Kentucky. It'd be the SOP everywhere if every school could pull multiple top 10 guys every year.

I don't see what top 10 guys have to do with this topic of "recruiting over", every team at every level tries/wants to do it.. It's all about getting a better roster in my view..

I believe the mike Maddux and Greg Maddux comment to be incredibly accurate. And funny. Its not accurate because not wanting Keldon has nothing to do with having Kaleb. Ive seen kids choose way worse teams than GTown because of family connections but I dont even think Keldon considered us. I felt this way before Coach Ewing had any of the pieces in place. If I were coach there wouldn't be a place for him on my roster after he waste 2yrs at UK....

Family connections can help or hurt. I was at the Kenner game where Kaleb and Keldon played on the same team. Their family was thrilled to see them together but neither brother seemed enthusiastic about it. Kaleb played really well, used the opportunity to take over the game and almost seemed to be showing his little brother who was boss in Georgetown's gym. For his part, Keldon seemed somewhat disengaged, although he played ok. I was left thinking that if it was up to the family the brothers would play in college together but that the brothers themselves didn't seem big on the idea.

Makes sense. Easier for the family to root for one team and attend games. Brothers may not want to compete against each other and want to blaze their own trail.
