Looks taller than LJ listed at 6'5". Perhaps LJ is being weighed down by the newly acquired pressures of fatherhood.

Good luck to LJ. I can't imagine impending fatherhood as an incoming sophomore.....more than I could handle.

First, there is no reason to fret about next year. At this point, next year's roster is what it is, unless we get a graduate transfer and to my knowledge we aren't in the hunt for any of those anymore. Thus, guys like Gill would really only matter for 2016-2017. The fact is most of these guys are transfers because they did not do well at their previous school. Generally, losing out on any of these guys is not a big deal and would barely register a blip if it wasn't transfer season.
Thus, next year our guards are a very capable Campbell (I still say most people still underrate how truly good he was last season), DSR, and Peak. That's plenty for next year as long as everybody stays healthy. I am also confident Campbell could step into DSR's shoes if needed. I am truly not concerned about next year.
Everybody knows we need to recruit guards for 2016-2017, when we basically only return Campbell and Peak (assuming he stays). The question is, can the staff pull in a 2016 high school player who is better than Gill? If they can get somebody else like Campbell or better, then yes. The problem is there's no way for us to know whether not taking Gill would be a mistake. For example, let's say we do get someone new like DSR. In my mind, that would be better than Gill. So, really, it's way too early to proclaim whether it's a problem. If we got two quality guards in the class of 2016 suddenly this all disappears.

That's plenty for next year as long as everybody stays healthy. I am also confident Campbell could step into DSR's shoes if needed. I am truly not concerned about next year. I like Tre a lot, and said that early in the season. To me, he was most effective in the open court. Really aggressive on the break. If Tre led the break, he almost always took it to the hole, and either scored or got fouled and when to the line. He was like Peak in that respect. In the half court, he had a few streaks where he shot the ball well, but also had stretches where his shot was off. He ended the season shooting well, so we remember that. He definitely hit some big shots for us. I like the fact that he did not shy away from the moment. Overall though, IMO he was relatively ineffective in the half court as the point, other than as a shooter when he was hot. I thought he had a good freshman year. Lots of potential there, but lots of room to improve his game. I guess that's true about most freshmen.

Ah, so Trey is our next guard recruit... He will be a part of the bringing-the-ball-up-the-court committee that JT3 will use to play with the minds of the we-desperately-need-a-ballhandling-PG crowd.

www.todaysu.com/mcbb/big-east-basketball/2014-15-recap2015-16-look-ahead-georgetown-hoyas/Expect L.J. Peak (L) and Isaac Copeland (R) to make huge improvements in their games next season for the Hoyas. 2015-16 Look Ahead: While the 2014-15 season can be considered quite the success, the Hoyas could be in line for even bigger and better things in 2015-16. With valued senior Smith-Rivera back to lead the charge, the Hoyas should be a feared squad. But it’s not just the return of Smith-Rivera that has Hoyas’ fans excited. The return of a sophomore quartet that includes L.J. Peak (7.9 points per game), Isaac Copeland (6.8 points per game on .389 percent shooting from three-point range), Paul White (5.0 points per game) and Tre Campbell (3.4 points per game) showed tremendous upside last season and all should be ready to flourish this year, especially with Smith, Hopkins, Bowen and Trawick all leaving the program. All of the above bring a vast array of skills and tangibles to the table and expect each and every one of them to improve on their numbers and be major players next season. Look for Copeland (which Bobby Reagan details here) and Peak, in particular, to be prime-time players. Not only that, but Georgetown coach John Thompson III is also bringing in yet another highly-touted recruiting class. The Hoyas bring in two four-star recruits in Jessie Govan and Marcus Derrickson while also bringing in other high-end prospects in Akoy Agau and Kaleb Johnson. Georgetown should be very deep, and again be an intimidating team to deal with. With Villanova likely to come down a peg, the Big East will be a wide open race and the Hoyas have as good a shot to win the conference crown as anyone in the league. A trip back to the NCAA Tournament seems eminent and this time around, the Hoyas could be prepared for a bigger run.
