This quote basically contradicts a 20-year argument where Gary Williams claiming Maryland was owed a game in College Park: " It was set up as a one-game deal. It was not supposed to be the start of a new series or anything like that, and then, I really wasn’t a part of any discussions after that. … I don’t know what our athletic administration did then, whether they were in touch with Georgetown, or how that was working.”

JT III does not get enough credit for the scheduling he has done since taking over the program. The start to being nationally relevant is playing a national schedule and despite a lack of quality home games in some years, the manner in which the coach has approached scheduling has been outstanding. Offering these high school kids a chance to be seen on nationally relevant games throughout the year is a key to any successful recruiting program.

I think the Big East could easily be the number one RPI conference next year. Gotta win the early ones conference wide. If Depaul didn't stink in the early part of '14, we probably would have been last year. Nova, Us, Providence with Dunn back, Marquette, Butler and Xavier all should see the top 25 during season. St. John's will be down, Depaul should be the same or slightly better, Seton Hall could be better, and Creighton is a mystery with transfers but I think they will always be solid. No gimmes next year.

I think the Big XII was fairly ahead of the Big East in conference RPI last year.

It was quite a bit ahead of everyone. On the other hand a couple of direct wins by big east teams over Big Twelve teams would have changed those numbers quickly. And the Big 12 underperformed the Big East in the tournament this year. Many years the RPI predicts post season success, this year it did not.

There seemed to be no limits on Dow's love for the Cuse. Those limits were tested when Dow and his first wife, Crystal, were expecting their first child. Dow had an idea for a name. Cuse. Whether it was a boy or a girl, he wanted to name the baby Cuse. 1yearold Cuse.JPGCuse Dow when she was younger. They had settled on Cuse Flynn Dow. "Yes, after Jonny Flynn,'' Dow said. In case the baby happened to be a girl, the Dows did have a fall-back plan. "We had talked about Sarah Cuse,'' Dow said, "but we went with Avery Cuse. We kind of gave her the name Avery just in case when she gets older she wants to use that name.'' I have a story about "Cuse." When we got our dog 10 years ago as a puppy, all the books said that when you were training your puppy to go to the bathroom outside, you should select a key word and repeat it again and again when she goes to the bathroom. Most books said pick "pee pee" or "poopie" or the like. Just a word that the dog would associate with going to the bathroom outside. Our dog proudly poops and pees when I say the word "Cuse." I love her very much.

She will be very popular at Paradise Found in 15 years.
And having Crystal in his second wedding is not that surprising - most guys do have their sister in their wedding.

Back to the schedule discussion. Know I realize its a little early but, does anyone have any thoughts when the Syracuse game might be played pre Big East or during the Big East season. Just looking to develop a travel schedule.

Just looking to develop a travel schedule. Since the game with UConn is on a Saturday in January, I would think there aren't any other dates in an 18 game schedule to accommodate another non-conference game at that point in the schedule. Given that Georgetown hosts the game this season and Verizon Center is always a tough booking, I'll take a complete guess and suggest Wednesday, Dec. 9.
