I've watched as much of these shows tonight as anyone and have to say we are getting no love. Doug Gottlieb started it by saying we were not worthy of the seed. The ESPN shows are debating and concluding we'll struggle with the Eastern Washingtoin team.
I've been frustrated with our performances in the last seven years as we have become the easy stat to show how we continually lose to double digit seeds, but it's time for us to play loose. No pressure now as we are being picked to go out early. This is when I think we can be at our best.
Good news is Xavier is on other side so no need to worry about trying to beat them in our fourth try.

We have to start somewhere changing the national narrative. Last game on Thursday would get some attention.

It's going to take more than 1 good run this year to change the narrative but have to start somewhere. Let's do it.

He also, according to him, had Xavier on the bubble. He's not only bad at his job, he's a waste of space. He offers no cogent, thoughtful commentary. He just says things to be "different" but his version of different comes off as poorly considered based in nothing but spiteful opinion. That said, until the Hoyas cram a run in the tournament up his keister, his song will stay the same as will the similar tune others are singing though, to be fair, with less bias.

We are not getting love. The "experts" are looking for their upsets and we are easy pickings. I think if our team takes this as a chip on their shoulder from the opening tip of each game and uses its advantages they could make some noise here.
My larger concern is for the Conference. You can tell the big ESPN's are trying to write us off like the NHL and we need to show up to refute that.
The last two years I've found myself forgetting the conference rivalries that have existed (e.g., Villanova) and rooting for the success of the conference so we can't be ignored.

Let them hate. Fuel the fire. Make a statement.
Speak in short declarations for rest of march.

Also don't forget importance of Big East teams winning games for the NCAA revenue shares. From what I recall, the historical NCAA revenue shares pre-Catholic 7 departure were retained by former BE teams that formed AAC, so need to start building up those revenue streams.

Its funny watching Espn turn from completly loving us and the big east to not even wanting to talk to us and not give any credit at all to the BE.They are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites!! I guess we are the odd team out since we are never shown on their precious sports channel any more.Bottom line is Gtown has played very bad in the past seaven years getting beat out in the 1st or 2nd rd.The only way to shut them and other channels up is start winning games that you are suppose to win.Go Hoyas!!

The "experts" are not crazy. We have crapped the bed for years now in the tourney. So has Villanova. As a conference we were done in the first weekend last year. Perception equals reality, so the teams need to go out and change the perception.
I have confidence in everyone but St Johns and Xavier in the first round; the former for their (now critical) lack of depth, the latter due to matching up with a hot BYU team.
I was initially jealous of Providence's draw when it was announced - it thought that would be our slot. If they get through, along with Nova and either us and Butler, the conference will acquit itself just fine. A FF run by someone would be icing on the cake.

That's all true but if you are going to pick East Washinton over us atleast include a reason more substantial than "they shouldn't have been a 4 seed" or "they always get upset". Neither of those reasons have anything to do with this game. Something like " ewu has the best scoring guard in the country" or "they can really shoot the 3 and Georgetown struggles to cover it" would do just fine. It's really just the irrational criticism that is comical. Gottlieb saying we got eviserated by Xavier and NOva will have to face athletes for the first time with NC state or LSU. I mean please, atleast pretend you have watched our games.

I think right as the brackets were announced, it was the easy quick pick to have the Hoyas be upset. As the night went on, it seemed like the commentators began to actually look at the matchups and pick different upsets.

We have to give them a reason to. Our history the last few years makes it easy to pick against us, but so does our recent play. I'm tired of being a national laughingstock come tournament time. Hopefully we can change it this year, but there are certainly no guarantees.

I was scanning through sports radio in Charlotte the other day and his show came on. I listened for a while because he had Jerry Palm on. Gottlieb flat out embarrassed himself and on several occasions Palm basically said, "What the hell are you talking about?" We earned our terrible March reputation, I know this... everyone here knows this. But we can change the narrative starting this year.

I am so glad that SI got Pete Thamel to write the South region writeup. Unsurprisingly, since he can't root for Syracuse in the tourney this year, he picked Georgetown to be upset.
