Who hasn't picked Georgetown to get upset? Seriously, we have to be the number one mentioned name team who is primed for an upset. It's time to shut them all up! Let's get it done!

Hey, if everyone is calling for GU to lose. . .doesn't that mean that if we win, it's an upset?

Let's make sure the kids on the EW team are reading all about how easy it is to upset the Hoyas.

Thompson was on Andy Katz's Katz's Korner. Katz likes Hoyas to get to sweet 16. Gaudio snd Alexander didn't disagree. Gaudio said different team with Smith in and when Hop at 5 go to more Princeton style offense.

We have to give them a reason to. Our history the last few years makes it easy to pick against us, but so does our recent play. I'm tired of being a national laughingstock come tournament time. Hopefully we can change it this year, but there are certainly no guarantees. I was simply making reference to the sports phenomenon of how every team -- even prohibitive favorites -- claim no one believes in them as a self-motivation technique. I really don't understand why people are making themselves so miserable.

These same "experts" said Xavier would beat Nova in the BE final. I'm so disgusted with the hate they are throwing the BE's way I am actually going to be pulling for St. John's. Did I just write that?

Seriously, ask yourself if you weren't a Hoya fan, wouldn't you also, considering recent history, instinctively pick the Hoyas as your first round upset?
The way to silence these fools is to win. Period. Nothing else matters.

Just watched every guy there on ESPN's bracket special say Nova will be the first #1 seed to lose, maybe in the 2nd round. Jay Williams then mocked the idea that they're biased because the games are on FOX, which I enjoyed simply for acknowledging the appearance of impropriety. The conference needs to kick ass this weekend and shut people up.

I threw on PTI for a few minutes today. At the end, when they "correct" their "errors," Kornheiser felt the need to explain that he forgot to mention that Georgetown was way overseeded, as if that were equivalent to misstating a statistic. And the doubt being thrown Villanova's way is absurd. The people on CBS are rolling out the old trope about "superior athletes" in the ACC and picking NC State to beat them. I can't believe I'm going to be pulling hard for that team, but it's going to happen.

My feeling is ESPN is trying to position ACC basketball to what the SEC is in football. BE needs to show well as we are fighting uphill battle to garner attention. As a Georgetown and BE fan I love Fox Sports but the issue is that doesn't translate to the casual fan.
As much as I despise what they do, ESPN does impact the attention that casual fans (and potential recruits) believe about various programs. Most people get their sports news from ESPN and when they don't cover games or give any attention on SportsCenter then casual fans can easily be swayed to what they are hyping.
Hoping the six from the BE make a strong showing with sweet sixteen appearances and at least one Final Four so they can't be dismissed and ignored.

The best comment I read " I'd pick against Georgetown if they had a bye" probably sums up everyone's, including the fanbases', feelings on the matter.
We could be matched up with a team we already beat convincingly and we'd still, deservingly, be the biggest upset pick.

True, but I've heard plenty of people trash them without bringing that up, simply saying that the Big East competition is a step down from other leagues.

Fortunately, as is the case with us, previous tournament shortcomings have absolutely no bearing on the outcome of this tournament.

Unfortunately Nova is about as reliable as us in this tournament. True, but I've heard plenty of people trash them without bringing that up, simply saying that the Big East competition is a step down from other leagues. Wasn't the BE the 2nd rated conference? Nova lost 2 gms and 2nd place tied with 6 in conference gms. So if the best team in the 2nd best rated conference only lost 2 gms then how could they be argued with over a 1 seed? No one seems to be at all upset about Texas or OK St. Our other 4 teams have tough draws but I will be rooting like crazy for the BE teams.

You could say the same thing about the Hoyas and the 4 seed. Is a 4 seed for the second best team in the second best conference really that outlandish? The ACC love-fest is really bugging me.
