5 seed out West with 90% of America picking the upset against BYU. Winner faces Oklahoma. When I go through the potential 3 and 4 seeds it is really the individual team/match up that will matter (no surprise) than seed. If we matched up with SF Austin, I'd put that number at 99%. They are already the media darlings of this tournament. Also, per Pomeroy, far and away the best team anywhere near that seed line.

Would it surprise anyone if uconn wins for us to get them in a 6 v 11 game. The story lines practically write themselves.

I would still rather play Uconn, ole miss, Lsu, Texas a&am than a team like SFA. Those major conference teams are low seeds because they are wildly inconsistent and downright bad at times. SFA would be a low seed because the committee can't justify putting them higher with their schedule. They are teams that win 25 out of 30 games.

I'd posit that Sleepy will find a dark streak of cynicism no matter the matchup today. Count me in the camp of wanting a middling power conf team rather than an upstart mid major loaded with undersized shooters. I'd welcome Temple or Ole Miss. I also would prefer a 6 seed actually because I would love a potential matchup with Maryland.

Speaking of consistency, whatever our seed I think our success substantially hinges on the play of Copeland. I'm going to assume DSR, Trawick, Hop etc will give us around their season averages but if we're getting out of the first weekend we need that version of Copeland who rebounds, hits those baseline and elbow jumpers, and doesn't get lost too much on defense.

Temple is a dream. They can't shoot at all and I mean at all.

Even the mere chance we could help them get tournament win when they don't deserve to be in the damn tournament makes me sick. I would rather be the first 1 seed to lose to a 16 seed than face UConn this year. I would rather relive all of our other postseason losses than face UConn this year. And for once it has nothing to do with my negatively about us and everything to do with my negatively about them being eliminated. Theoretically we should beat them, but theoretically last year Napier was no Walker until he was. I am not going to say Boatright is no Napier until he has been eliminated from postseason play. The last few years, the worse UConn is , the harder they are go beat come March. So no, I am not going to welcome that match-up. Any other middling power conference team, fine. But not that one. Today I am a Mustang before I am a Hoya.

Today I am a Mustang before I am a Hoya. I think this a pain only CT residents can feel Sleepy, so I'm with you. UConn fans are by-and-large terrible fair weather fans. Few UConn men's basketball fans existed before 1990. Zero UConn women's basketball fans existed before 1995. I've never seen a bandwagon get rushed and filled so quickly. In down years (like this year), area fans have all but given up on the team. All of a sudden, now that UConn has a chance to make the tournament, it's like those fans never left. It really is infuriating. I had two separate UConn "fans" text me yesterday to find out what channel the game was on after they barely even noticed that UConn was playing basketball late December through February. I, too, will be a huge Mustang fan today.

I'm not actually concerned with any of the top seeds this year because, besides Kentucky, I think we match-up pretty well with all of them if we were to get that far. It's really just a matter of avoiding a terrible match-up in the first two rounds to get to that point. Villanova should be a bad match-up but I actually think III and Wrights familiarity with each other help with that and make the game more of a toss up than it should be. This team is odd because, besides Xavier, I am not sure we have a specific match-up that is clearly terrible. I think we are just too inconsistent to have a clear bad match up. Another oddity about this team's consistency is that it is usually the veterans or freshman that are playing well, only once did both click at the same time. I always end games fearing for our future or anticipating graduation. I am not really sure why they can't all get it together at the same time.

Dan. Lunardi is a joke. The dude starts coming out with brackets in November. You can't be more pointless and waste more of my time. How he can not only assign seeds but assign teams to them is beyond crazy. Yes now is a different story as teams are winning there conference tournaments. Stil I think I can wait a few more hours to get the actual real bracket. I don't need to look at his countless revisions over three months. How he's built this bracketology to a cottage industry is beyond me.

I'm will be scared to death over whoever it is we play. I'm not even going to look ahead as to who the top 3 seeds are in our region just bc we need to focus on winning the first. Maybe I'm being too cynical but hearing people talk on here about how they would welcome an Ole Miss or LSU bc of their wild inconsistency makes me wonder if these people have watched us play this year. Yes, we have no bad losses, but by all accounts we have been pretty darn inconsistent. Look at the Xavier game from Friday night. Great to start, terrible in between and then we finished strong but just fell short. The whole season we've looked really good at times and then had 10 minutes without a field goal at times. I just don't know which team will show up on Thursday/Friday. I'm praying it's the former, because we really do have the pieces to make a run this year if all things are clicking, but I also thought the same in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. It's all about our energy in the first 5-10 minutes on Thursday/Friday. Let's hope everyone's focused and ready to play. Hoya Saxa

As indicated previously, I am a horrendous pu****y this time of year. I will DVR the first game and not watch unless we have won. It is probable I would watch game 2 live...in the unlikely event it occurs!

The sad part is that its only going to get worse, anxiety wise, on this board from here on out. This is peak relaxation. Knowing our opponent will just make our insanity worse and more focused. Should be a fun few days!
The only thing I keep holding out hope for, should Uconn win today, is that UConn-Louisville would actually make a better match-up in their eyes. Louisville is likely a 5 seed and that would be a heck of a 5-12 match-up.

Fill out your bracket, call out sick Thursday and Friday, drink some brews, and before the night is over dominate your woman like your the dictator of your own home.
