Piggy-backing off that: his numbers this year are almost identical to last year when he finished only with all-BE honorable mention. His is actually less efficient this year in getting the extra .8 points per game. This selection is the most confounding in recent memory. Not to mention that there are teams in our league on which he likely wouldn't be a starter. Which ones???

Dunn over Henton is absurd as well. To me, Henton was the most valuable, and probably best, player in the league on a consistent basis.

Watching the pre-game interview with Jay Wright. He said Archidiacono won co-POY because of the "intangibles" he brings to the floor. So leadership skills trump actual production? If he says so...

Well, let's see if he makes the all-tournament team.

Aren't the coaches the ones that vote for this? If so, I am willing to accept their opinion on the subject.

It's odd, though, given that the coaches voted for the all-conference teams too where three players were unanimous selections, Archidiacono not being one of them. In any event, Hart is absolutely going off today and Hilliard looks to be the best player on the court. Villanova should make a pretty good run this year.

Little Arci brought some amazing intangibles today though. I'm bringing my intangibles to MSG tonight so I expect to receive an award.

We're not here to win individual awards, we're here to win championships. Here's hoping it makes 'Nova and Providence soft so that we can destroy them both. Then why are you posting in this thread?

I hear the competition is pretty stiff from the moderator on the Provy board, who posts 82 times a day. But you've got it all over him on the intangibles.

I'll never understand the people that act as if winning individual awards is mutually exclusive of, or detrimental to, team success. When Jeff Green won POY in 2007, people were quick to say "He doesn't care about that. He cares about winning the Big East championship." It seems far more likely that he did care about winning the POY award, but also wanted to win. Personally, I want to see our team win, and our guys get individual accolades. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm looking forward to watching DSR turn in two more 20+ point games on the way to the tournament MOP award and the title.

Watching more of Dunn than I've seen this year vs Arch this semifinal. Sort of underscoring how ridiculous the POY was.
