DSR 21pts and Trawick 12pts have scored 33 of the Hoyas 59pts today and are also the only 2 Hoyas in double digit scoring for this game.

A very solid performance in a tough arena. Wasn't perfect but any road win in the conference has value.

Our offensive rebounding has disappeared recently...

Reggie Cameron and Bradley Hayes check into the game around the 1:45 mark. Nice to see Reggie hit a 10 footer. Maybe if he doesn't feel the pressure of having to shoot and hit nothing but 3's he will loosen up a little and regain his touch.

Can't stand the way G'town runs it's offense..
The players look like they're going thru a walk thru..

Our offensive rebounding has disappeared recently... But when we do get one we do it spectacularly!

Final Thoughts:
1. Solid bounce back win on the road after what happened at home vs. Xavier
2. In beating Creighton by 27 @ Creighton the Hoyas should remain in top 25
3. The Hoyas defense was solid and held Creighton to is lowest score ever at the CenturyLink Center (40 pts.)
4. The Hoyas defense held Creighton to its lowest FG% of the season 20.8% (11/53 FGs); matter of fact DSR (9) was only 2 FGs shy of tying Creighton's mad FG's
5. DSR 24 pts and Trawich 15 pts almost outscored Creighton by themselves 40-39.
6. Next up is a match up vs Providence on Wed. Night. A good opportunity to build on momentum thru the early part of Feb.

Thank you St. John's for allowing Creighton to get any remote semblance of decent shooting out of their system. Well, we have a counter to the old "why does every team we play have guys who just can't miss from 3" gripe.

It was important to pick up this road win and keep pace at the top of the league. Also impressive to see them shake off that early Creighton run and it seemed to me that the players never seemed to think this one was in doubt. Good to be able to back up confidence with performance.

3-2 on the road in this league? That's an excellent start, even if the 3 have come against the bottom RPI teams in the conference. I did not think 5-4 on the rod was in reach, but if we can figure out how to make shots at home for once, a 13-5 conference record is within reach. Have to take care of Providence before the house money no-expectations game at Nova.

Josh Smith for all his skills--maybe he is a liability for this team sometimes? It seems like defensively when he is not in the game we are nothing short of dominant. Was it me or did the run to break the game open come with him on the bench?
We are a couple of missed FTs from being undefeated against every team that doesn't have Matt Stainbrook.

I am not normally negative, and am glad to get a blowout on the road in the Big East, but....wonder how many other teams in the conference we would have beaten today. Creighton missed a lot of wide open shots against our D, and did not think the offense overall executed at a very high level. May have been the dead arena and game that was not in doubt for the last 25 minutes..I hope so , anyway.

It's funny. Feel free to tell me I'm crazy, but for large portions of the game, I thought our perimeter defense wasn't all that special. Now, I thought it was excellent in the first five minutes, and maybe that effected Creighton throughout, but a lot of their looks were wide open. They just flat-out stink. Our interior defense, though, was outstanding. I can't worry too much about the offensive rebounds; that's going to happen when a team shoots that many threes.
I don't get the complaints about our offense. I'm sorry, I just don't. DSR was aggressive early, and we ran him off picks for jumpers at least three times that I counted. Those were things people complained about. Creighton's defense sagged off the three in order to take away the cuts and the post, and so we shot a ton of threes. And we made a ton. Doesn't matter what kind of offense you're running; isn't that what you're supposed to do? 50% from the field and 44% from three. And very little of that was on the break, so we didn't get a lot of easy ones.
I really liked Josh's patience on offense when he was in; they were doubling the post when he didn't have the ball lots of times, and doubling him immediately when he got it. He didn't try to fight through the doubles and didn't turn it over.
I also really liked Mikael's running lefty baby hook; that's the second or third time we've seen it. I think I'd like to see him use that as his exclusive move when he gets it on the right side. He has a real hard time playing through body contact (I think that's one of the reasons his finishing is so poor). So a move like that allows him to avoid it.
If Jabril can continue to make and take threes at that clip, the sky is the limit, because it makes him another true multidimensional weapon offensively.

It's a road win. TAKE IT. To paraphrase Bill Belichick (hold your criticism, please) It's on to Providence.

great defensive effort today. solid offense even with nothing from josh. white is shooting too many 3's. last 4 games he has shot 16 times, 10 being 3's. I'd like to see him put it on the floor more like Copeland.
tough games ahead. must win vs prov with 2 very tough road games after.

I hope the team doesn't have any trouble getting out of Omaha tonight. They've got some nasty weather moving in shortly if it isn't there already. If there are delays at least they've got four days until the Providence game.

I thought the offense was great today. I haven't read the thread but I'm sure it was a bunch of we are taking too many 3s. Creighton was playing pack line D. That's all that was there really. Open 3s and long 2s. When we went in that scoreless stretch most of those looks from 3 were wide open.
