From what I see on the Terps board it would be a major upset if he comes back.... until someone hires an agent i assume they are coming back.

their class is stacked 4 players who will have an impact. Smith is an underranked player as well as Ayala if either was coming here I would be thru the roof and they are the lower ranked players. Also Smith is not ranked high because he was not a huge AAU guy. He did play a few events and play well.

Is this sarcasm? Top 5 team? They will be lucky to be a top 5 team in the Big 10 next year. Cowan is a very solid player and they have a few good pieces around him, but Turgeon is horrendous and they are losing a decent amount. Smith is a solid prospect and could be good, but he's not even going to start for them next year. Tournament team, sure. But this is only a top 5 team if Jalen Smith is a transcendent talent who is a POY candidate. Most people are picking them top 15 before this. I think they have freshman scoring punch to help Cowan. We shall see, I like their team alot. NBC sports 18 CBS sports 16 ESPN Not ranked Way too Early bracketology has them as a 10 seed. Ah I see someone else already beat me to it. So yeah not buying a non top 150 recruit jumping them into the top 5 nationally, no matter how much he put up in high school, but you're entitled to your opinion.

I don’t get the MD hype for next year especially if Fernando leaves. They do have a nice class coming in but unless it’s a Duke/UK type of class I don’t see it. Huerter is really nice, but Cowan is vastly overrated IMO. And there isn’t a whole lot after that although I do think Morsell is a good piece.
And not sure why prognosticators haven’t taken into account Turgeon’s coaching which has proven to be subpar. Man has had a lot of talent and nothing to show for it. So is he all of a sudden going to progress with less talent? Doubtful.

Scared to take the perimeter jumpshot, When he can't drive he is a negative on the court. Started the season okay, but teams game planned for him and shut him down the last games of the season.

From occasional scans of Testudo Times, they are pretty much done with Turgeon unless the team has a big season. And they don't seem too optimistic that Turgeon will deliver anything more this season than he has in the past.

Maybe one, two at most. Not a few unless he gets them into the NCAA's pretty soon.

If Xavier Johnson follows Hunter that could be a very solid future backcourt...

Atlanta 6-foot-8, 200 pound forward Kamani Johnson ranks with the best in the EYBL as far as rebounds per minutes played. He also has a connection to the University of Minnesota. Minnesota is one of several schools that have contacted the Southern Stampede forward who goes to Holy Spirit Prep in Atlanta. Kamani Johnson has scored 6.7 points a game with 7.5 rebounds a contest. “I hear the most from UCF, Florida Gulf Coast, Butler, UAB but have offer and interest from Minnesota, Georgetown, Memphis, Georgia Southern, Nebraska and Georgia Tech. www.prephoops.com/2017/05/recruiting-report-kamani-johnson-2018/http://instagr.am/p/BQX2lFZguUw http://instagr.am/p/BN0cys8g3LA Kamani Johnson committed to Arkansas Little Rock

Is Xavier Johnson the only 2018 recruit that came on an official visit and committed elsewhere?

Is Xavier Johnson the only 2018 recruit that came on an official visit and committed elsewhere? I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure Xavier Johnson only took an unofficial visit to Georgetown since it's so close. Based on my tracking, players that took an official visit for 2018 that committed elsewhere are: Immanuel Bates, Javian Fleming, Landers Nolley, and Jordan Phillips. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CtUgTwapB5rCvc7Dm6GIMQ-GaSRoUUjB12mSM9evPC4/edit?usp=sharing

Awww man, that stinks on Verbeek.
I know he's like 140 lbs soaking wet, but he honestly seems too good for Holy Cross.

I have read where we have 1 scholarship available. Isn't Malinowski going to play as a a walk on this year? Would that leave us 2? What about Mourning?

Clearly, a Big East project and would have needed 2 years to develop to help us. If you have the option to take a Bryce Golden instead, that seems to make way more sense.

Ewing's current recruiting (Femi/Golden) would indicate that there is at least 1 scholarship still available for next season. The current assumption is that one of Malinowski or Mourning will not be on scholarship this season (though CasualHoya mentioned this morning that Malinowski is likely on scholarship this season), which is where the scholarship would come from.
