So ironically, a loss to DePaul at Verizon will be the most devastating thing that can happen on the remaining schedule. Is it possible to just go ahead and buy stock in that happening? Let's get our new "storm the court when we beat Villanova" students on blast about the importance of this DePaul game. We can expect their A game.

You know what will really help the legitimacy of the Big East? The Final Four / National Championship Game run we're going to make this year because the Basketball Gods owe us one. Also Nova making the Elite Eight (I'm not going to root for them to make the Final Four b/c conference loyalty only goes so far). It wouldn't if Butler or Reigning Big East Champion Providence (I've found referring to them as such makes Hopkins' free throw performance hurt just a little less) also makes a Final Four either.

We aren't a good enough shooting team to win every game against teams that we are better than. It isn't going to happen. But I still think an undefeated home schedule and 4 road wins is worthy and achievable goal. If we are able to get a 2nd win this weekend--of course it isn't a "must win", no game in January is when you're on top of the conference--our chances at getting two more road wins out of Creighton, SJU, Nova, SHU, and Butler look better. We are designating this game as a "Big Dog Must Win" game. You deserve this one.

I deserved the Greg Whittington missed FT game. And the 2006 game when we were clearly better. This one? Not sure.

Good luck to the kid for a quick and full recovery. I guess if it had to happen, this is a good year in terms of where their squad seems to be headed.

If you guys feel that way, than you have much too high expectations of college basketball teams. Like I said, we will probably be underdogs. Losing on the road in conference to top 100 teams is more expected than it is bad. Im not sure how going 3-6 on the road is good, but losing to Marquette is somehow a bad loss. Is there a line on the GU/MU game yet? I would never bet against the Hoyas, but if anything comes out that doesn't make Marquette a narrow favorite, I think a wise gambler would put money down on the Golden Eagles. This is definitely a winnable game, but I would put it maybe Marquette -1 actually that's exactly what the line is.

actually that's exactly what the line is. Last I saw was Georgetown -1. Either way, narrow margin. What I saw was that it opened Georgetown -1 but that the consensus line was now Marquette -1. But basically a pick'em either way.

I think DePaul watched Klay Thompson last night, just 7 minutes into game against Xavier and they have already taken 10 threes.

No idea what happened to DePaul during that 6 game losing streak. But other than those two awful weeks, they've looked like a much, much better team than last year. Right now, the ball don't lie. They're not missing many shots at all. Crazy.
