Just to tell everyone this kid is supposed to be very good and also a little fact, he went to the same high school that Amare Stoudemire so he is the best thing to come out of this high school since him, so hes following in great footsteps.

Didn't Amare go to about 6 high schools, including some for which he was not allowed to play? Surfing the net, it appears he is a 6'7 F with an inside and outside game, including 3 point range. Either that, or he is an early entry candidate for the League from some college in NC.

You seen him, Hayes? He seems to be completely under the radar for a guy putting 30 ppg in the Florida playoffs.

Yeah, he seems like a great players, a perfect sub for BB and it says he has a great perimeter game with a ferocious inside game. His team made it to the state semi-finals in which he got 36 points at the game, so he can be clutch, which would be great to here for GTown if we get him. What is kind of wierd is that this kid is not on rivals or insiders so he must be really flying under the radar. Heck, sounds like another Jeff

Sounds like III is on a good one. I psyched to see who else we add during the late signing period.

I've watched him develop over the last 3 seasons, as he had to play in the shadow of D1 recruits BJ Leath and Derrick Simmons. I told anyone who would listen that Marvin had a bigger upside and would rise above Leath and Simmons. I hit a HR

It's not likely we find a 2005 recruit 6'10" or taller. Not that I know all our targets, but the only target that size I know of is a JUCO guy likely to follow his coach to SC. There aren't a lot of post players left.

Hey DHayes, what's the kid's frame like? How much does he weigh?
Sounds like a system kind of player - guys with good size who can do a lot of things on offense are clearly going to be a major target for us. If coach thinks he fits, that's enough for me.
There isn't a lot left in terms of Rivals 150 players (and no big men, except Uche Echefu, who isn't interested for whatever reason). But some guys will sign now who no one knows and will become big time players. Maybe Marvin is one of them. Maybe they'll refer to the UNC Marvin as "the other Marvin" in a few years! ;D
I kinda doubt it though.

There aren't a lot of post players left. You are right. I think what JTIII is doing is since their aren't a lot of bigs left this year, is getting the best players that will fit his scheme available. Maybe he is thinking as long as Jeff and Roy develop, and possibly Cornelio, then we should be okay on the frontline for another year, and then we will go after some big guys next year.

Did some research on Marvin Williams and he led his team to 4A State Championship and was First Team All State in 4A. More on his HS exploits than anything recruiting wise, but he sounds like an intriguing prospect.
With all of this said, remember that Hoya Staff has been known to explore every option possible and evaluate as many players as they can, so it doesn't mean anyone is a sure bet to be a signee. Tomorrow is the 1st day of Spring Signing Period and Hoya Hoop Banquet, so hopefully we'll hear more news regarding possible recruits and what's going on from those who attend.

Hey DHayes, what's the kid's frame like? How much does he weigh? Marvin is 6'7" about 205. His shoulders are very broad, he could easily get to about 220-225. At the state's final four last month he knocked down 5 threes while also dominating the paint to the tune of 36pts. Marvin would have been a top 100 recruit if he had played AAU ball and attended the top camps.

Are you kidding me? This kid sounds unreal. He is a great perimeter player, who works on his post up game and becomes a beast inside while draining 5 3"s in the big game. He plays in the shadow of his more highly touted teammates and "defers" to them, all the while making himself better. He is the ultimate team player, "...at times he demanded the ball when the situation called for it...[but] his sense of team play never diminished." He is a clutch, big game player, going for 36 in the finals [semis?]. Are you kidding me? If this is for real, is there a better player for the Princetown?

Sounds like a bigger, more assertive version of DJ. I'll take it.

At least Jeff was on the Rivals sites. I can't believe a first team all stater isn't does not even have a profile on those sites. I mean even pawdunk 5'11'' crap ballers have profiles on those things.
If he is all-state in FL then something is good about him.

The Best coaches/recruiters spot the best talent that can succeed on the court with or without press clippings or so-called "insiders/gurus" analysis.
