Fairleigh Dickinson (or, as we called it growing up in northern New Jersey, "Harvard on the Hackensack") defeats Towson, 85-84, on a layup with five seconds left in overtime. We used to play FD all the time in the '60s, and we called them fairly ridiculous.

We did too, but I was trying to be nice. Remember Al LoBalbo coaching them with the plaid sport jackets?

Turgeon gets a technical protesting a non-call on a possible goaltend. Because when you're on national TV, you really want to channel Sweaty Gary.
It ends up not costing them and they force a second OT anyway. Drat.

These teams are awful. If Maryland is the 12th best team in the country, sweet 16 here we come...

By how much do you think Indiana beats these two teams?

I would note too that Notre Dame is basically in the top 15 by beating MSU and 13 other top 250 teams. I agree that Indiana is probably better than most teams that are ranked. Just happened to play good teams that they lost to.

EDIT: Florida lost when walk-on forward Jacob Kurtz (remember him?) tipped in an off-balance three-point shot attempt into his team's own basket with 0.4 seconds left in the game. If he had a scholarship, Billy Donovan might have revoked it.

Can you imagine the back and forth here if JT3 had called a similar TO to the one Izzo called near the end of regulation that, as it turned out, pretty much cost MSU the game?

In fairness, while that was a ridiculous TO, the loss is on the team. They did everything they could to give the Twerps that game and they succeeded. Turnovers in OT and FT shooting were big issues. Similar to what our guys need to tighten up.

Similar to what our guys need to tighten up. Agreed. The team played really poorly, but it's early yet for an Izzo team. It's pretty laughable that MSU fans would be all over him.

Yeah but the Spartans were REALLY terrible. Dez Wells was a man out there for UMCP.
