LJ Peak...only played 6 mins., and appeared to have been benched from the 14 min mark in the 1st half thru the entire 2nd half. Peak's spot on Saturday may be turned over to Tre Campbell. EW packed it in at the start., while staying very active. There was no penetration space. If he could hit from outside at a nice clip, he would have played, but the slashing wasn't available.

I'll think we'll continue to see Peak starting, but with a short leash. . .like last night. If he can hit an early drive, it would do wonders for his confidence, and for the Hoyas in general. At this point, though, I've lowered my expectations as to contributions from L.J. this post-season.

See what a better player trawick has become since adding a three point shot.

If JT3 is indeed listening to me, I'd like to tell him he should have started Hayes to start the second half and reward the player that helped u so much...poorly produced JT3.

Yeah, hated that NCAA W he produced. Simply awful. I wasn't talking about the result. Merely while I was watching I felt that Hayes deserved the 2nd half start. Then when I saw smith commit a stupid foul" I'll call that committing a smith" it really Editeded me off. You can agree with my statement or not but please don't think I'm not thrilled with the victory.

Rich, your chain is so easy to yank. I should have given that up for Lent.
My actual point is that the coach knows his players better than I do and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

You must admit LJ before today was a poor shooter at 21%(3). I'm glad he played great. Look forward to his continued success.

LJ has been extremely unproductive until tonight. Coach always gives him the opportunity to break out and I'm glad he did today.

As the season wound down the guideline was clear to all of the guys - produce or sit.

This thread was always some BS…
3 was in control of this situation all year and in the category that actually matters MPG he performed well as a coach. he rewarded players with more minutes if they were effective game to game and he sat players that were not.

That is s benefit of having depth. Hopefully the newcomers next season will be able to contribute enough to establish a deep bench again.

I think III did a great job with the lineup this year. Everyone got good minutes and he worked around hop and smith as best he could. The first 8 minutes of that game showed what it could be like when our lineups don't get affected by fouls. The flow was great and contributions were coming from everywhere. But, then, Smith had to come out and III tried to steal minutes without DSR. That was a turning point. Although I admit that we were never going to keep up that pace of shooting anyway.

I'm not sure that I agree we can't keep up that pace of shooting. We should have 6 or 7 good three point shooters with size next year. We should have big games where we shoot 50% or more from the field. If we have center/power forwards who can get the ball and also score above 50% in the paint we should return to the days of having an efficient offense.
