For the last few years I have diligently packed my bags and headed to the Thanksgiving tournaments and WAS planning to attend this one as well. However, the downturn in the season and thus my mood has made me decide not to go. I couldn't justify the cash output knowing that there is better than 50/50 chance that I would be spending my time in paradise brooding and in a general Editedy mood. I've been waiting on this trip for the better part of 20 years, so I might change my mind again, but I see the roster, the recruits and I don't think next year gets better.

This may sound crazy but I am wondering about going to Maui for the invitational this coming November. I am going. I have reservations, going to get to spend some time with my roommate who I have not seen enough over the years. However I do not know how the same staff and mostly the same players reverse a losing mentality over the off season. How do they begin to believe that they will win every game they play? I certainly do not believe that this is their mindset currently. This may be a naïve question, I do not want to travel several thousand miles to see a continuation of this season. Views on this would be appreciated. Maybe you should wait until July to purchase the tickets. That will give you time to see how the dust settles after the season, spring, transfer season, NBA combines, etc... Then, at least you will know the roster for next season and, thus, our chances vs. a stacked field. Fair-weather fan advice, wouldn't expect any less from you.

Putting LJ at point guard for the season is not the answer. They are just finishing a year where they tried to have a shooting guard play full time point guard and it didn't work!! I am all for giving LJ more opportunities with isolations and finding ways for him get to the rim, but trying to make him a point guard is going to limit his effectiveness.
Bring in a fifth year PG and let him and Tre run the team. Finding someone that is a natural point guard and can handle those responsibilities on both offense and defense are the keys to turning this around. I think Tre will improve and hopefully become a valuable member of the team, but I am not sure he is really a natural point guard. The rest of the team is good enough to compete for a BE championship if we can fill that PG position. Will they be a favorite to win the BE, no!!! Should they be competitive, absolutely!!!

Very fair point, pr. As nice as it is, Maui is one of the most expensive places to visit.

Prices and packages announced. wearegeorgetown.com/tickets/2016-maui-jim-maui-invitational/?camefrom=EMCL_1140861_43726164In past tourneys, I don't remember there being an option to purchase just the game tickets (separate from the travel package), but I may be wrong. At least they've continued the tradition of having a reasonable price on the travel packages - only $887 per night if you want to go with your significant other for five nights (though that does include a Maui Jim Maui Invitational name badge, lanyard and souvenir!)

A man of your means? C'mon KC, I expect you to be front and center at those games with that significant other. If that price is inclusive of airfare for two then that's not a bad deal for a trip to Hawaii as the combined cost of the two can be very expensive. Tough to do that trip though if your not going to spend some more time there than a long weekend unless maybe you live in SF or LA due to travel time.

Get over yourself. No one is obsessively attacking you and take a look at your posture before you accuse others of attacking you.

C'mon, children, it's the off-season. Maybe save and store the vitriol for a few months until Midnight Madness?

If only it could work that way. I fear there is an inexhaustible supply among HoyaTalk members. That said - a strong showing next season would lighten the mood a touch!

You'll never drive me crazy. I'm here to win and point this board to some sort of reality. If the reality of winning and being an impactful program happens, I'm sure you and your buddies will start following suit. Being blind apologists is not something that is admirable or something to criticize someone who is not. Nor does it make you a bigger supporter of this program. I look forward to the season with all of you as you are all a real joy (and I really mean that) and hope we are all singing from the same hymnal when this gets going. Things look positive this offseason but ... I'll stop there and wait and see. Good luck III and the Hoyas.

The Blind Apologists. Great name for a band. Wish I had any musical talent whatsover. I would form a band just to use that name.

Don't know about a band but I see a Blind Apologist Promotion Night, with a give away of retro Stevie Wonder sunglasses with a "We Can See You Eagle 54 " embossed on the side.
