Eastern Washington 88, Indiana 86. Final. At Assembly Hall in Bloomington. Hope Crean has that resume updated. 1 step forward 2 steps back for Indiana, way to back up that win over SMU.

At the half, Marquette trails NJIT 30-28. Can't believe that the Highlanders can hang on. . . .

They're lucky they have a big recruiting class coming in next year, because they're just plain bad. I guess this is why Buzz Williams jumped ship while he could...

Sure looks like ol' Buzz didn't exactly leave the larder filled for Wojo. Looks like first to 50 wins.

Thought 'Nova would win, but not like that. Very impressive win for the Wildcats and for the conference. Can't recall the last time the Hoyas beat a ranked team light that. Villanova was aggressive in a way the Hoyas typically aren't, even when they're good. Gtown has a lot to live up to this week IMO. The Hoyas need to keep the momentum going for the Big East.

The Hoyas need to keep the momentum going for the Big East. It was less than two years ago. Have you really already forgotten this game? scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=330680046Perhaps I should have written "a ranked non-conference team". Conference games can sometimes be strange in their final results because of how well the opposing squads know one another. That being said, and I guess I'll take some heat for this, scoring 61 points in a final game against your greatest rival in front of a packed house does not meet my criteria of "aggressive". The offense didn't look great and the Hoyas weren't pushing the pace or attacking the rim. The Hoyas made some outside shots thanks to DSR and Starks. Even the 39 points the Hoyas held the Cuse to wasn't exactly a sign of aggression. The Hoyas were in a sort of zone defense most of the game and the Cuse ironically struggled against zone defenses. As a team they had a miserable shooting day and couldn't even muster 40 points. The Orange's awful play was arguably as much about them just having a bad day as it was about the Hoyas stepping up on defense. I don't think Nova is 20 points better than VCU. But it doesn't matter. On a neutral floor with VCU taking an early second half lead and what seemed at the time to be the momentum, Nova stepped up and throttled them by getting tough and aggressive. I typically don't view Nova as either tough or overly aggressive. To me Nova is more of a bunch of a "prissy little jumpshooters" (to steal a long ago quote from Michael Wilbon in reference to Reggie Miller). I seriously thought Nova would have its hands full tonight but the ildcats pulled away for an easy victory. Color me impressed.

The Memphis game. That fits the criteria. Good job. Like I said I couldn't recall the last time, not that there hadn't been such games in which Gtown dominated like that against a high quality team.

C'mon, man. We all loved that win but the Hoyas didn't exactly dominate and Mich State was missing a couple of guys who would later return that season and lead them deep into the NCAA tourney. By the way shout out to DarthHoya on twitter pointing out that the Big East so far is 31-2 and the A-10 is 32-17! Hope someone makes that known to Feinstein who has adopted the A-10 and loves to talk that conference up. The one problem? I believe The Big East is the one conference without a single road win at this stage.

BTW, there is very little chance that Crean is in jeopardy of losing his job. His buyout clause is gigantic. As in well over $10 million.
