BTW, there is very little chance that Crean is in jeopardy of losing his job. His buyout clause is gigantic. As in well over $10 million. Mark Cuban will write a check for at least half of Crean's buyout this year. Barring a miracle, he's gone after this year. Crean's burned every bridge that matters and he's not successful enough to keep his job with the current success level. Plenty of well-placed IU sources informing me this is the case...

Creighton and Villanova in action tonight. Villanova gets to take on #19 Michigan which would be another big win for the conference.

C'mon, man. We all loved that win but the Hoyas didn't exactly dominate and Mich State was missing a couple of guys who would later return that season and lead them deep into the NCAA tourney. By the way shout out to DarthHoya on twitter pointing out that the Big East so far is 31-2 and the A-10 is 32-17! Hope someone makes that known to Feinstein who has adopted the A-10 and loves to talk that conference up. The one problem? I believe The Big East is the one conference without a single road win at this stage. I don't know about other conferences, but yeah no road wins for the BE, but to be fair they've only played 1 road game thus far Marquette @ Ohio St. Not likely to win the next true road game either since it's Providence @ Kentucky. Butler @ Indiana St on 12/3 looks like the most likely first true road win. I think lack of road wins is more about lack of opportunity: Marquette played their one, Providence has 2, Butler has 2, Creighton has 2, DePaul has 3, St. John's has 1, Seton Hall has 2, Xavier has 2, Georgetown plays 0, Villanova plays 0.

That being said, and I guess I'll take some heat for this, scoring 61 points in a final game against your greatest rival in front of a packed house does not meet my criteria of "aggressive". The offense didn't look great and the Hoyas weren't pushing the pace or attacking the rim. The Hoyas made some outside shots thanks to DSR and Starks. Even the 39 points the Hoyas held the Cuse to wasn't exactly a sign of aggression. The Hoyas were in a sort of zone defense most of the game and the Cuse ironically struggled against zone defenses. As a team they had a miserable shooting day and couldn't even muster 40 points. The Orange's awful play was arguably as much about them just having a bad day as it was about the Hoyas stepping up on defense. Geez, tough crowd. It was a beatdown. And it was that much more enjoyable given the opponent. Guess you had to be there...

Hoyaboya, I stand corrected. I forgot about Cuban being an IU alum and basketball fanatic. That he would write a check to cover Crean's buyout wouldn't surprise me. Crean's buyout stands at $14 mill through 2014 and then goes down to $12 mill in 2015 and then down to $7.5 mill in 2016.

I would stand with Hoyaboya on the Crean issue. Crean was on very thin ice entering the season, needing a strong bounce back year, before the off-court escapades occurred. The fan base in-state has been eroded, a bit, by the recent successes of Butler, and the Hoosiers have almost become irrelevant in the Big Ten. Those two aspects don't sit well with the well-heeled Indiana basketball supporters, and they will "grease" the way to say farewell to Crean at season's end. Question: Who do you think is the next coach in Bloomington? Pretty sure it won't be Steve Alford.

We need Josh to punish their front line. He is the key to victory against teams like Florida, Wisconsin, Kansas & Indiana. He is the one really unique player we have that can foul out an entire front line.

Kind of contradicts himself in the article though. Says that they can't be that good because they don't have any shooters, can't play in the half court, etc. but then goes on to acknowledge that they have a lot more talent coming in. So tough to say that they've peaked.

It's hard to make a point when you don't really know what the point should be.

He also says proof instead of prove. <Pet peeve>
If the point is that you are gearing to give Dayton or WG 40 minutes of Hell, you might not be able to do it to Nova (or a blueblood) with good guards, he might have something.
If the point is that their offense sucks, but wait he's recruiting, then yeah, that belies the article title. If Mack and Williams give them enough scoring punch in later years to go with an aggressive D, then no, they may not have hit the ceiling.
Not that those observations are mutually exclusive, just that the title makes them so.
Dauster kinds of goes back to the first part at the end of the article when he talks about them continuing to make the Dance and make noise every once in awhile but the implication is that Shaka can' wreak Havoc against the UK, Pukes, etc. of the world since they already have elite ball handlers.
But it isn't also clear if he is talking about the 14-15 Rams or Shaka's model as a whole. Like njhoya said, he seems to be unsure what his point is.

Charlotte plays Miami again tonight apparently after playing them in the Championship of the Charleston Classic 2 days ago. They got blown out the first time.

Arizona isn’t overrated perse’ but they are probably the most beatable top team.. Lot’s of flaws despite the high level of talent on that roster. Would love to face them in the Elite 8…

Not a game of interest per se, but on the Big Ten Network and at the half in Piscataway:
St. Peter's 31, Rutgers 19.
Glad that Rutgers left the Big East for the Big Ten, so our RPI won't be dragged down by playing them.
