Looney is the real deal. He has a nose for the ball - double digit rebounds in every game so far. When his offensive game gets a little more polished, look out (assuming he hasn't fled to the NBA ala Josh Levine). I have a friend named Josh Levine. He's 5'7 and wishes he played in the NBA. I just saw the name and thought it was very funny. Zach is the one that fled.

Johnnies on a 12-0 run, and looking like they will take down the Gophers.

I know I should want the Johnnies to win and I do. I'm very glad I didn't go there and don't have to actively root for Harrison.

Richard Pitino is no John Wooden either.

Unless Reggie Miller is coming off the bench for Pitino, this one is over.

St. John's 70, Minnesota 61. Final at the Garden.
Another Big East win over a so-called Power 5 conference.
Now if DePaul can come back. . .nah, that's asking for too much.

Lehigh lost its first four games (Villanova 72-66, Canisius 63-51, Rider 78-74 and Columbia 54-44). They go to Rosemont and beat DePaul 86-74. What's the over-under on Blue Demon conference wins this season? Two?

DePaul is one of the problems in this conference. We need to knock them out and go after more competitive programs (e.g., Dayton). I don't think the Chicago TV market actaully watches DePaul games.
My same confusion with the Rutgers - NY tv market argument for the B10 entrance.

The league is not going to bounce DePaul out. I think we just have to be patient. . .and hope that Oliver Purcell doesn't somehow manage to get a contract extension.

League needs to get aggressive or will fall behind and quickly become a mid major in the landscape.
The former BE has nothing to do with what is left in this conference.
This is a critical time for the BE to step up and think outside the box or be left behind.

There will always be a 10th place team in a ten team conference that will not be competitive. So long as we have six or seven very good programs we can live with DePaul being DePaul.

If we don't who cares anyway

DePaul for all their recent terrible play has been good in the past(1980s). What has doomed their program in recent history is the play in Rosemont which is more than 1 hour away in the best of circumstances. The new McCormick Place stadium will completely change the student and likely high school perception of DePaul by giving them a venue in the City where they can play with a home crowd attending and bring recruits from the Chicago area to enjoy the games. While 5 years ago or even 2 the argument was strong the DePaul didn't add value to the conference, I don't think that argument will be as strong going forward over the next several seasons. If it ever came to pass that DePaul again recruited the best from the Chicago Public Leagues (think Okafor and our Paul White)they would overnight be much more competitive. Coupled with the right coach, they could contend.

Butler is getting spanked right now by Oklahoma. This looks like it could be very ugly for the Bulldogs.
