A little surprised that no one has commented yet on the flags we all received with our season tickets this year. I thought the flag was a nice idea, but the "season ticket holder" pretty much ruins it.

I was so excited about a cool flag... why add the writing!? Yes - on both sides too! Pretty much sends it right to the bin. Unusable.

I was psyched to see the flag.....then I saw the bottom....circular file.

I was so excited about a cool flag... why add the writing!? Because the idea was created and pushed through by out-of-touch middle- and senior-aged men who have no idea what people want? I know I'm being harsh, but there are times when McDonough so successfully lives up to the "Never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity" mantra that all one can do is throw up one's hands and dance to the roaring 80s chords of The Reflex.

So glad I'm not the only one. Two useless flags sitting on my kitchen table.

I would rather have had the $10 gift card to Gordon Biersch that came last year.

Had exactly the same reaction. If they left off the season ticket holder it would have been cool.

As a representative of the "senior" category, I couldn't agree more - it will stay folded up in a drawer somewhere

For those non-season ticket holders, anyone care to enlighten us with a pic? As a middle-aged man, I'd like to see what "my people" have screwed up this time. And "Ordinary World" FTW without question. Throwing one's hands up while dancing is for the younger crowd. Give me a slow dance with a big-haired lass every time.

The girl in Quadrant IV is wisely covering up the offending text. This is all aside from the fact - pointed out to me by FLHoya this afternoon - that these flags lack...umm...flag holes. So it's not actually possible to use them as a flag, absent the flimsy 3M sticky strip that has a functional life of approximately 30 minutes.

What's wrong with the "season ticket holder" language? I plan to use mine with pride.

What's wrong with the "season ticket holder" language? I plan to use mine with pride. It's tacky as all get out. I mean, if you really want, I'm sure folks here would be more than happy to weigh in with their particular take on its tackiness (e.g., it's unnecessarily divisive within the fan base, identifying the bearer as someone with both the dosposable income and the flexibility/leisure time to be a season ticket holder, at a time when we're trying our darnedest to bring in casual fans). The best overarching explanation I can think of is this: it violates a cardinal rule of good marketing practice - show, don't tell!

So....when I opened it up my first reaction was "wow, what a great idea." I have always thought about hanging a "G" flag from my front porch for big games but never actually did anything to make that happen. The fact that Georgetown was enabling that for me was really cool. Then I saw the "season ticket holder" line and the PNC Bank branding and realized that nope, I could not possibly hang that out front without looking like a d-bag. The fact that there was no way to actually fly the flag just made me laugh.
Such a great idea so poorly executed. I threw it out.

PNC Bank ad is much more offensive than Season Ticket Holder.
One is douchy; the other is just crass.

As a fan since my freshman year in 1964 and season ticket holder for over 34 years I strenuously object to the characterization of this stupid promo as the act of a "senior" individual My wife ( a brilliatn scientist and physician) and I opened the package and coiuldn't figure out what it was. We then read the script, evaluated the constructon and came to the conclusion that there were two ways to utilzie the "flag" 1) Unfurl it and wave it by hand at home games resulting a a melee after blocking the view of others 2) Hiring a 7' youth to wave it from our deck A classic. This is the product of a communications or marketing major-both fields of study require a seventh grade level of intellectual capacity.

If you find a coordinated 7' youth, please send him to McDonough. Hilarious post.
