Nothing in his collega stats stands out so far... not a 3-pt threat... bad FT shooter... I haven't seen the kid play lately, but what does he bring to the table that Pat is looking for?

If Pat is high on him after watching him enough to offer and be in pursuit, I would be thrilled to land him.
He is a long, bouncy athlete who can actually handle the ball pretty well. I only saw him a few times, but with his frame and natural ability he should be exactly what Pat is looking to mold. Keep in mind he will get an entire year off to get stronger and develop more of an offensive game. Sit one, play two for a kid with his size and talent is a great deal.
I could see him actually playing a similar role to Pat Ewing Jr. during his time at Georgetown.

You take this kid if you can get him, no ifs, and or buts.

Would he qualify as the mystery recruit that will sit out a year?

Agreed. He is a big step up in talent level. Agree with you and B&G, but do we have room for another transfer that would count against next year's scholarships?

Any news here? Seems like a few good C/PF types are looking to make moves.

Sacha Killeya-Jones is looking to jump-start a college career that never quite got off the ground as minutes were tough to come by at Kentucky due to the program's immense frontcourt depth. The 6-foot-9 forward has been silent regarding his recruitment this spring, but we know NC State, North Carolina, Pitt, Georgetown and a number of others along the East Coast are in the mix. Even though Killeya-Jones didn't light it up in Lexington, he could end up like former Gonzaga standout Kyle Wiljter and have a productive second act after leaving UK.

I hope the staff is pursuing SKJ hard. I love the idea of getting him an entire year redshirting, training how to become a big man under Pat. I am sure he got little to no coaching at UK, but the sky is the limit for him with the right amount of effort and coaching.
Having SKJ in the 2019 class would be a great way to start it out!

Spot on. If this kid is willing to put in the work, there is no better landing spot for him than GU.

Who would you prefer if it came down to a choice between Killeya Jones and the Ike kid, who is transferring from Florida State? Both seem to be high level athletes.

Not sure why but that is whom I would choose.

Not sure why but that is whom I would choose. I have not seen either of them play, outside of a few quick highlights, to really know which would be a better fit. I think the SKJ kid is more local, which I guess helps if you are trying to strengthen your presence with the local teams/recruits.

Not a huge surprise. The new coach at NC State has done a good job recruiting players and building some excitement. Jones is a good player and I think he will do well once he gets some more playing time. The only bit of concern was some of the rumors about NC state possibly being part of the scandal with Adidas, which could lead to some sanctions at some point. Wonder if the Hoyas backed away and are more focused on getting a 2018 player to round out this class, or if they just figured they didn't have a chance with him.
