And the man who couldn't get off our bench takes one of the best defensive guards in America off the bounce for the winner. He would have already graduated so can only be happy for him…. Huge shot..

For the last two minutes of Dayton-Ohio St., the March Madness stream froze on me every five seconds. Made for maddening viewing. But did Craft get fouled there at the end with any time left? Genuinely couldn't see.

This is true but I will never understand why he couldn't get more PT. It seemed like every time he stepped on the court for the Hoyas he made a positive contribution.

Dayton half way to completing a great weekend for Gtown fans. They pull it off, I'll have to reconsider my stance on them and the Big East. <knock on wood>

The second he took off, I knew it would be the "Vee floater"! Looked awfully familiar. :^)

I mean, isn't he Dayton's sixth man though? I loved that take though against one of the best defensive players in CBB. He plays with a ton of confidence, and that was evident at GU as well, especially in what...let's be totally honest people...is the only actual memory we all have of Vee at Georgetown.

Yeah I wish he would have played more but Free, Jason, and Chris being upperclassmen had a lot to do with it. Those are some high level guards..

Yeah Vee always had that confidence and that floater in $ everytime. I’ll never forget the one he hit against Cuse in the BET. Straight Butta.. haha

In Vee Sanford's last season, he had a pretty impressive 119.1 O rating (in part, this was because shot 12-20 on three point shots, a percentage he would have never maintained), though he played very limited minutes so it's a pretty small sample size...But as hoyainspirit noted, he had very good players in Freeman, Wright, and Clark ahead of him.
I really think if Sanford had stayed, he would have gotten a fair amount of time in 2012. He would have been playing behind Clark and Starks, but the only other guard was Trawick, and I think Sanford would have had a fair shot of getting those minutes (Trawick played 28.1% of minutes). As a senior, he also would have gotten time, but it might have slowed down DSR's progression, so I am not sure that it necessarily hurt us all that much.
Sanford has been a solid player at Dayton, though not dominant. His O rating last year was 105.9, and this year it's 106.0. That's a solid player, but for reference, Trawick's O rating turned out to be higher than that this year.
Of course, we would have had a big need for someone like that this year, but he would have graduated last year had he stayed. Luck and timing play a huge role. Whereas Vee Sanford would have been a much needed presence on this year's roster, he was - at best - 4th guard off the bench back in 2011.

I like that Cooley kicked them off the team, despite their talent. I'd love to know why the details came out now, not earlier, which forced Cooley to say something public about it for the first time. Cooley didn't kick them off the team. He suspended both of them. One of them end up transferring on his own free will a month or so later. The other one appears to be sticking around and will likely be on the team next season. Granted what Cooley did was still commendable and was something that Boeheim would have never done. Nonetheless let us not react as if Cooley dismissed the from the program and had them kicked out of school. If both guys are indeed guilty of sexually assauting a co-ed, they should be, in a better world, banished from the school.

The only thing better was watching Craft miss after the Verne Lundquist Felllatathon

What Wisconsin did as a number 2 seed to American is what I had been hoping the Hoyas could have done at least once in the first round the last ten years when they were number 2 and number 3 seeds. #Envy. #NoFirstRoundDrama. #TakingCareOfBusiness.

Talking about former Big East members Pitt Panthers are putting a whooping on the Colorado Buffaloes. The lead has been fluctuating between 28 to 33 pts...wow

The Broncos aren't exactly giving me great confidence right now.

The Broncos aren't exactly giving me great confidence right now. Near as I can tell, their coach's pre-game speech was simply listing every social media platform he could think of. Probably more of the "your bounce passes can go more than halfway to the receiving player before they hit the ground" would've been helpful.
