With our solid guard play, we might have been one serviceable big away from being UConn this year.

UConn over 'Nova 25-24 at the half. The Wildcats still look like they are in a hangover from the BET loss to the Hall. Don't worry. They got Josh Hart. Perhaps the biggest miss in the history of Georgetown recruiting.

Syracuse basketball message board fully in meltdown lol they are saying Boeheim should be fired after he made it to Final Four last year, and happy that Ennis is leaving to NBA when he has been carrying this team all season. damn i thought we were the only spoiled fans XD Yeah, I hate it when bad things happen to good people. Oh, wait. We're talking about Syracuse.

congrats to Vee upon being a player who is valued on a SWEET 16 team 'sup troll? I mean, as long as we're trolling for the sake of it, congrats also to Jerrelle for leading his team to the CIT quarterfinals last night, and to Jeremiah for finishing the whole plate of macaroni and cheese ALL BY HIMSELF. #123fireballs

Nova looks awful. It looks like dougie McBuckets may be our only hope.

Nova looks awful. It looks like dougie McBuckets may be our only hope. If Nova isn't causing opposing teams to turn the ball over and if its players aren't going to the FT line 40 times in a game, it is very vulnerable. Not enough interior scoring and not enough guys who can create buckets on their own.

Really a very poor performance by Villanova. UConn showed far more toughness and resiliency tonight.

Really a very poor performance by Villanova. UConn showed far more toughness and resiliency tonight. Lack of urgency is so strange especially after Seton Hall outworked them.

But the clotheshorse's suit is still nattily pressed and devoid of icky sweat stains. That's a clear victory.

Don't know where they'd be without his 0 for 3 tonight. Hart's never been the must-get some have made him out to be but he's a nice player that woulda been helpful for the Hoyas, especially when you consider that Domingo took his schollie. Hard to pin Nova's loss tonight on Hart of all people-- besides, nobody in the country was stopping Napier tonight the way he played.....

Nova's strength is guard play. They were essentially beaten at their own game. Heck, UConn's best big contributed by shooting threes. That is to say they had no inside game to speak of at all. You could argue that Pinkston and Ochefu should have been utilized more. Poor coaching job by Wright. Despite their success this season in the regular season, Nova seemed like pretenders all along.
Just goes to show you that a season's success is solidified in the second weekend of the tourney.
I hope having our Hoyas watch the tourney at home this year stokes a fire in them to make a solid run next year.

Can I play #hoyatalklogic tonight? Villanova's five years since their Final Four: 2 Rd 64 losses, 2 Rd 32 losses, missed one NCAA Georgetown's five years after our Final Four: 2 Rd 64 losses, 2 Rd 32 losses, missed one NCAA Dove for Men commercials for Jay Wright: 1 Dove for Men commercials for JTIII: 1

Nobody has ever made Hart out to be a must get. There were a ton of posters who agreed with our decision not to offer. MCI has worked himself up by conflating the "miss" of kids who at some point in their lives really wanted to come here that we alienated (like Grant Hill, who everyone knows is vastly more talented than Hart will ever be), and the "miss" of kids who were dying to come here that we flat out didn't offer. After his freshman year, Hart seems like a pretty big miss in the second category. There are few kids of (what now appears to be) his caliber beating down our door.

We do have a weird synergy with Nova when it comes to NCAA tourney success and failure. Our '84 'ship followed by their '85 'ship. Our FF4 run in 2007 followed by their FF4 run in 2008.
The Dove commercial thing just seals it.
I do get annoyed seeing DMV talent on their roster year in and year out.

Syracuse and Nova lose on the same day. Hard to have a more enjoyable day.

Quick note: Coach K has the most losses to double digit seeded teams with 6 losses. JTIII is #2 with 5 losses.
Seeing Duke's meltdown this year even after they made Elite 8 last year, I think we have a very grateful fan base considering that we have been getting handled year by year.

Great to see Magoo throw the kid under the bus for the last shot. Must be sure he is not coming back.

Even Michigan state and Louisville, the media darlings, haven't looked all that great in the tourney. And, Wichita state and UVA could easily lose today. I just think this whole thing is a crap shoot. If you had to re pick right now, you might say UConn has the best chance to get to the final four. They could play Iowa state without niang and Kansas without embed, in the garden.
As some others mentioned, a year off from the tourney should make everyone, including the media, realize that Georgetown isn't some unique tourney choker. It's a 68 team tourney where you could play Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Oregon might have beaten 30 other teams last night.

Actually, Boeheim is the one with 6 losses to double digit seeds. III, K, Brey, Knight and Cremins are tied with 5. Wouldn't want to short-change Magoo on another HOF credential. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=400548467y
