Capel fired. Does he get the release? oh boy! you'd think so. Graham has played with Isaac back in Raleigh and at Brewster. That would be a great get

Did you see the guy in the stands on the first video in the Hoya jersey cheering for Devonte?

Did you see the guy in the stands on the first video in the Hoya jersey cheering for Devonte? I think that's his dad wearing a Broughton jersey, his old high school in Raleigh

Did we ever recruit this kid? Is there any reason to believe that we could jump in at this time when apparently NC State, Wichita St. and Providence have been there for awhile?

Now the big question for all you armchair recruiters, who would you forgo to get Graham? Trier, Mann, Reaves, Bacon, one of these ball handlers as got to go in 2015 in order to get him in 2014.

He's 2014, would the 2015's be threatened? Trier and Mann are must haves, imo.

Noones a given to commit in 15. If he wants to come bring him. Can't be playing the holding out games we had in the past. Staff doesn't seem to be doing that anymore which is good policy IMO. Wouldn't think the 15's would be scared away being at the level they are even if. We need another ball handler next year. Competition is good for the team. The elite teams are deep. Why can't we be?

I don't want the pendulum to shift too far in the other direction though. The best recruiters can toe the fine line between the bird in the hand approach and getting your top option.
Part of this is having a feel for which way the '15s are leaning and whether bringing another guard in now would impact them. Also, we gotta be very sure with our evaluation of Graham and figuring out how he will fit into our system and rotation. For what its worth, I don't think he's better than Tre so I really don't see the benefit of bringing in another point now. Yaboy has made his case for a guard but I'm just not convinced. I'd prefer Mann/Trier. People always say competition is nothing to worry about, but we all know that's not how it works.
I do think it will wind up being a moot point. Although Graham is Copeland's teammate I don't see that as being enough to make him choose the Hoyas....

Am I missing something? Why do we want to sign a small point guard in 2014 who had mostly mid major offers? We have a point in the 2014 class who is higher rated than this kid.

He's really good. Rankings have not caught up to him and he is probably undervalued due to height. this is the type of kid that we face in the tourney and obliterates us.
We take him because Tre will be the only real pg/ball handler next year. Can DSR and Trawick handle the ball sufficiently for most games? Yes. But they definitely aren't strong at it either. I'd prefer to have more than 1 person that can handle and break the press well.

If he's that good, sure, but it feels like a panic signing potentially. We have a point guard coming in and I believe (and I think JT3 does too) that DSR can handle point guard duties more than adequately for long stretches. I also think press breaking is more about passing and quick/smart decisions than it is about having a super tight handle anyway. It's a team issue. Having some bigs who can hopefully catch the ball would go a long way.
I trust the staff and if he's too good to pass up, bring him on.

It wouldn't be a panic signing whatsoever.
The kid can flat out play and could easily end up being a three-year starter for us.
