I'm not going to lose sleep over what Rabb does if he comes fine. Govan is not too shabby and is clearly becoming one of the top true centers in this class. Everyone should be more concerned with the quality of the backcourt going forward. Getting Rabb and a quality backcourt aren't mutually exclusive things. We can get both. And getting Govan AND Rabb is great because they can play at the same time. Rabb looks more like a 4 to me, while Govan is more of a pure back to the basket center. You could have Ike at the 3 in that line up. Also, getting Rabb could very well lure a top guard. And finally, getting Rabb would put us over the top and really get us into the realm of being a championship quality team, propelling us into an 80's era dynasty. So, yeah, you might not want to lose sleep, but don't pretend like he wouldn't be a HUGE get. I agree with his general point. Getting Rabb would be absolutely awesome(!!!), but I think we are OK in the frontcourt either way. I am also becoming concerned about the backcourt, with Trier apparently out of consideration, Reaves gone, and some of the other names seemingly long shots. Love the recruiting trajectory, and nothing to stress over, but it sure would be nice to lock up a top tier guard some time soon.

Not to mention the fact that the backcourt when Rabb would be here will have a senior DSR and sophomore Peak and Campbell. And Copeland might be able to play shooting guard as well.

Thats if DSR doesn't have the breakout year that many seems to think he might and opts out to the draft. I don't just want a body we need quality and kids who can contribute at a high level right away if we are to come close to expectations that some here have for 15-16.

After scoring 17 plus a game this year, he didn't test the water. Doesn't that qualify as a break out year? In the end, if he plays at the next level, it would have to be at PG, and he's still a ways off of playing the point at an NBA level.

If DSR actually can opt out and get drafted, that would be a very good thing in a lot of ways. We need guards in the league badly.

Although having him lead us to a national title and THEN make it in the league would be even better.

With due respect to DSR (one of my favorite Hoyas in a while), he is a ways away from the NBA. There are serious questions about him playing PG at the college level, let alone the NBA. He is, at best, an undersized shooting guard. And who does he defend in the NBA? Bigger shooting guards? Quicker point guards? DSR has a chance to play in the NBA, but he has a lot of work to do to get there.

Somebody please tell me why Duke made his most recent list? I thought they acted rather indifferently to him on his last visit there.

And Copeland might be able to play shooting guard as well. No offense but I don't think this should happen. We tried this with Greg, who was probably more of a pure 3 than Copeland is now, and he wasn't even that good. I'm sure Copeland will develop into a solid outside shooter, but playing him at the 2 would very likely gum up our spacing. Copeland sounds like he has Jeff Green's skillset, and hopefully will be utilized in the same way.

ukrecruiting.bloginky.com/2014/07/11/tweet-watch-rabb-names-8-teams-plans-zona-visit/The 6-foot-10 prospect visited Duke, North Carolina and Georgetown in May, and he told PointGuardU that he is planning to visit Arizona for that school’s Red-Blue Game, which is Oct. 18. That’s the same weekend as UK’s Big Blue Madness. Rabb has not yet visited Lexington and has made no public plans to do so. UK assistant coach Kenny Payne was among those watching him at the LeBron James Skills Academy in Las Vegas on Thursday. Arizona Coach Sean Miller was also there, along with several of the head coaches on Rabb’s list.

Is the red and blue game just a scrimmage they do the opening night of practice instead of running layup lines?

Who's got the time and Photoshop skills to post a pic of Ivan in a Georgetown jersey? Preferably #23. Aaron will be done with the number before Ivan needs it

Georgetown does not officially retire any number. Some just get less use.
