The first three day weekend of Kenner League begins.
So far only Hoyas are Allen, Bowen, and Caprio here warming up (the ABC game).

There were only two games on Friday night, but 5 Hoyas played.
Aaron Bowen: 21 points, 1 rebound Bowen looked fast, under control, made a couple really nice threes, nice pull up jumpers, and got to the hole with ease. He played about 2/3rds of the time and looked quite sharp.
John Caprio: 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal Caprio took a bit to get going as his shot (close in or farther out) weren't falling early (only 4 points in the first half). But, played really well second half. As usual his full arsenal of on target passes were used and again showed a powerful dunk.
David Allen: 3 points Allen seems to have lost a half step from the quickness he showed last Summer. He was taking jumpers from well beyond the arc, missing, and making a face wondering how that happened - yes, the deep ones are only impressive when they go in and they need to go in often to not look goofy. He made one of this threes. He passed well, but really needs a lot more pop on his passes and to add to the types of passes he takes (should get the checklist from Caprio). It was a rough night and he looked rusty (I think this was his first game he played in as A. Wash was off last weekend).
Markel Starks: 21 points, 3 assists, and 1 steal Starks looked sharp, but had a bit too much power on some of his passes (even though most were on target). His shooting from outside (perhaps 3 threes) looks really smooth and quite consistent on his form and motion. His mid-range shots also look good and is driving to the hoop and going left and right equally well tonight. His defense and quick hands broke up a few plays.
Nate Lubick: 6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist Lubick was sharp and was playing well inside and was making his usually good passes. His inside moves with the ball are good and strong and his footwork is quite good.

Can you give us some idea as to Lubick and his mid-range jump shot? Does it seem like he is attempting the mid-range shots?

What position did they have Bowen playing? How much did he handle the ball? How was his defense?

Thanks, Saxagael! There are many of us out there, I am sure, that are really wanting to see people like Bowen. Lubick, and Ayagbe do well--especially with Whit out.

Jeff Green and Jonathan Wallace suited and warming up with Clyde's. Oh, and add Tyler Crawford to that team.
Could have Bowen on Domingo fest.

He's been playing in Kenner on Clyde's and often wears Georgetown swag into the gym. He looks young, but dang he shoots well. I'm hitting news updates sitting in the stands at Kenner.

Ryan Williams (Reggie's son) was a freshman last year at Georgetown. He'll be a sophomore. No clue if he's walking on, but one would think so with him playing with clydes.

Another bit of evidence that Kenner is special: Victor Oladipo played with Team Takeover in the last game today -- a two point win over DCX in which Oladipo's isolation play pull up jumper from 15 feet with about 20 seconds to play was the difference.

Hoping to see the stats from today, but the Hoya player highlights for current players follow:
David Allen: (leading with Allen?) Had a monster shot block on a 6'8" opposing player. His game today was much improved over last night. Passing improved, fewer deep threes attempted and made at least one three, and drove to the hoop nicely and strongly.
Aaron Bowen: Played really well shooting outside, but he was covered on a few plays by Domingo and with cross overs and jab steps found an opening and blew past to the rim. His off ball play was really good. He tweaked his back taking on Jeff Green who was driving hard to the basket and was out for a good stretch, but did return but a playing a bit gingerly.
Stephen Domingo: Played well shooting threes and going inside (he seemed a little timid on the court when Jeff Green was playing with him, but after the first three he relaxed a bit) and his defense of Bowen improved after getting taken a couple times. His defense of others was quite good, but none of the others were as explosively quick as Bowen). On one three he missed badly his feet were hooked well past 45 degrees to the left. His three attempts that made it were much closer to straight (15 degrees or less).
Bradley Hayes: Played inside game really well and was going against Gus Gilcrist of Southern Florida and then Martins Abele (7'1" 290 pounds) of Duquesne during the game. He was able to back then down a bit then go to his sky hook and it was landing today. Most welcome was his hands were working really well on rebounds holding onto the ball and then getting the ball back up and tapping it in. Early in the game Jeff Green was pointing to where he wanted Hayes and focussed on getting him the ball and letting him go to work. While Hayes was on the bench Jonathan Wallace and Jeff Green were giving guidance (the Hoyas really do a great job of helping each other). Hayes has some blocks and a few disruptions.
Moses Ayegba: He played well on defense, but was a bit lacking on offense [edit: but in lacking offense had 19 points in the teams 100 point win]. (Curious what his numbers were).
Josh Smith: Moved well on the flood. His shot was a bit off today, but did a good job on the boards and backing his man down when his shot was failing. His backing down into the basket turned into lay-ins or a nice dunk.
Dante Smith Rivera: His three pointer was missing the mark most often, but got one to go, but played point well and was able to drive to the basket and finish or dish nicely. His defense was quite good and shut down opposing guards trying to quick step and juke to create advantage, but he most often kept them in front of himself.
Reggie Cameron: His three from deep was back on target, he was driving to the hole really well, mixing it up inside, and getting good rebounds. The inside play was really nice to see as he uses his size and athleticism well. He had a nice pull up jumper on one halted drive. Defense, particularly inside was a bit of an area that needs focus. He wasn't really in good position nor feet set to easily move to keep his man from getting advantage. At least a couple players were within defensive reach when they were driving to the hole and he let them pass unchallenged (Smith or others here putting some pressure on), while it saved fouls, it would be nice to deter the guy with the ball and I'm sure JTIII will work his magic on Cameron's game. On defense he does get out on wing players to get a hand up, and he was keeping his head up and in the game while running down the court in both direction (a nice change from prior weeks).
Nate Lubick: He played really well in another close game. His defense, passing, and play on the boards is quite good. He seems to be working a lot on inside shooting and the soft hook. He moves to the hole really well and didn't really take many outside jumpers, but on his free throws I noticed he still has that hitch in his shot (it may not be as pronounced as it was prior years), but free throws are solid as always. He was playing against Hopkins on quite a few plays and it was a good challenge for both when they matched up.
Markel Starks: Played his usual top shelf game with great passing, really nice threes that floated home nicely, and good drive and finish or pass to open player. He had footing problems that he had last week, but not last night in different shoes. His feet were slipping out on hard leaning drives. In the second half he twisted his ankle and stayed in briefly before sitting out the rest of the game.
Jabril Trawick: Had a top notch game with good outside shooting, solid defense, great drives. He was playing at full tilt today and played well in that mindset.
Mikel Hopkins: A great athletic game on defense, running the court hard, and nice drives to the hoop with dunks or layup. Nice job creating his own plays facing the basket. His defense in 5 position and smaller positions was solid.
Ryan Williams: He played a 2 role and shot his outside shots well and nice job distributing on a very full Clyde's team. He was also announced as a Georgetown player when announced, so including him in the listing.
Others: Jeff Green had a MONSTER dunk playing for Clyde's, he had a tough time with some of his college distance three shots, but did a great job with Hayes setting him up and guiding the current Hoya's while on the bench. Jonathan Wallace still has a deadly three pointer that didn't miss (he has a bit more arc than last Summer, but not as much as the rainbows of his GU playing days), Tyler Crawford had a few minutes has bulked up a bit more from last year. Not a Hoya, but Victor Oladipo played with Team Takeover and was a spark (to say the least). Also nice to see was Mo Sutton (Villanova) fresh from last night's Wizard's Summer League game in Las Vegas playing the Kenner's first game today.
