i think the big issue boils down to trust in the coaching staff - and i feel confident they will make the right decision for hoya basketball. could i have said that a year ago? (enough said).
it feels great to know that we are in the hunt for the only two top 10 recruits who haven't signed from the class of 2005.
at the same time, if they don't commit to the Hilltop and we have no unexpected departures, we are assured of some added senior leadership from DJ.
these are choices i am glad we have... and i trust GTIII will do what is best for the future of the program.

This questions is a no-brainer. Yes, DJ should be asked back.
DJ has a lot of athletic ability and basketball skill. However, for some reason he is often frusratingly passive. If he can get over this problem, he will be a good starter if not an out-and-out star. But even if he doesn't get past this barrier, he still gives us a very shot shooter and athlete to us in situations. Our roster will not be so deep next year so as to justify dumping a guy like that.
Also, DJ will have earned this extra year if he graduates this spring, and he deserves the opportunity to play.

I recognize that some get upset with DJ's apparent "passive" play. One spectacular dunk against Duke two years ago is not evidence that DJ (or anyone else for that matter) can do that all the time.
My heart goes out for the guy for many reasons. He really is junior basketball wise. He only had three years to figure this whole college thing out. Plus, as JT3 said he had a whole team of freshman. It was great to see DJ step it up. Would any freshman we have coming in right now be able to put the team on his shoulders when we were up against the wall against SHU?
I was at MSG for the SHU game and I said to my old roommate, "DJ doesn't want to end his Big East career tonight." He continued that play into UConn and the NIT. It would be great to have a guy with that kind of experience next year.
I recall reading a post that JT3 said something to the effect that DJ will be welcome on this team as long as he wants to be here. Obviously, the one remaining issue in this discussion is whether DJ graduates in May. I guess we can assume that he is on track to do it. He deserves much credit for completing the degree in 4 years.
Of course, JT3 will use remaining scholarships if a fantastic prospect wants to sign with us.
I just think we could have a special season next year with DJ on board.
