Trying not to let tonights performance skew your overall opinion, what do you all think?

To me, this isn't much of a question. He was our most consistent player in the postseason (BET and NIT).

Yes...I completely agree. I voted perhapes so as to not influence. I think he has come along ALL season well for us.
I would say that there are many factors involved besides this season. He has much to offer, and he seems to have picked up the offense well, yet is that a justification for the space that JT# might earn? These are just questions...which have no "true" answers. Hence Opinion.
So, what do you think Jersey?

Yes they will, and he could add much. That is another thing that I would imagine JT3 must think about...

Well, a couple of things could shake out over the next couple of weeks, which do not make me too concerned about having DO back next season in terms of scholarship availability.

That's what I am talking about....
A number of shakes will either open a few things up, or become things we have to deal with.

I would love to have the leadership that he could offer to the young-un's. But, and I admit, I am not as deep into the recruiting situation (since the BET), and what we may have offered us in terms of players...

Fair point and you have raised the KEY issue for the next couple of weeks. We'll see how it all transpires, and it should be a fun ride headed into summer. Everyone should stay tuned for it. I have no inside info other than that which is provided on another site, but no one on either board has said anything about what will definitely happen.

If anything comes across my path in the next couple of weeks, I'll let you know.
Does added leadership next year, mean more then future great team players (not that he isn't), or is it a great way to get the PR and TV time, which will get the future young-uns into the GT way?
Time will tell.
Great season...

The difference between the DJ of the beginning and the end of the season is inspiring. Give credit to JTIII on this one. With another summer and the first semester of next year under JTIII, DJ could be one of the leaders of this team come March Madness '06.

Young teams in tough systems with precision require senior leadership. With DO, BB and AC, you'd have to like our chances, don't you think?

Yes...True! Like Jersey and I were saying, it comes to the shake-out. The leadership is a needed thing, most assuredly. I would have no ill feelings if he came back, but not at the expense of some future great player.
But then again, how many great players have we recruited, and then they only really become great after they leave.

I don't know.... I remember when the Terps won, Dixon and Blake were (and are) somewhat marginal talents with big hearts.
They knew how to execute.
I think DJ is the kind of player you want to have on an advanced team that is loaded with seniors (like next year will be). Keep in mind- we only get BB and AC one more year. We want to make the best of that year.
I'm sure it will work out in the end but I'd still rather have DJ around for a big contending year.

I had not even entertained the "heart" perspective. By making the best of next year, that "talent" which we may lose out on next year, may actually turn into more access to talent in the future with the gained PR and TV time. Just a great point YB...great point!

I agree with YB, UNLESS WE HAVE A LEGIT RECRUIT TO TAKE THE SPOT. If we're giving one to Wallace and need the spot, bye-bye DO. If Wallace ISN'T taking one, we should still have one open for someone else. It boils down to what happens to Wallace.
Of just as big importance, what happens with Guibunda? His situation seems oddly similar to that of Willie Taylor if you ask me... and we all know how that turned out.
GO III!!! RECRUIT THOSE KIDS!!!

Hey, I'm all in favor of recruiting bigger, better, meaner guys.
I'm just saying, if we can't quite get over the hump next year because all the young guys are just learning the system, it's like trading one young guy for one year of 3 experienced, 4-year players that are rare in college ball.
I say, let's make the most of next year and take our chances there. We'll have 4 great players, at a minimum, coming in- and possibly a ton more to follow, especially with a big BE and NCAA run.
