Where will the Hoyas end up? dikembe, Zo, AI, O, Jerome, jahidi, don Reid, Green, Roy, Monroe, Sweetney, Otto, Summers. Pretty impressive group. espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/85004/path-to-the-draft-ranking-nba-pedigree

Its going to be interesting. Choosing 89 changes things a bit because no Ewing, Jordan etc. Roy dominating these playoffs will surely help, if only subconsciously, the writers think better of gtown.
Im thinking somewhere between 8 and 12.

I read thru a lot of the ridiculous comments for the article and I think we will be top 5. Not sure how a team like Wake will be considered with not a lot of players, but Duncan winning so many titles.

I'm not sure if many folks have noticed, but ESPN.com is running a series by Eamonn Brennan and Myron Medcalf on the top college programs for "NBA pedigree" since 1989 (when the draft went to 2 rounds). Each day they do a write up on a new team in reverse rank order. I've enjoyed it so far and want to pass along to other HoyaTalkers. espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/tag/_/name/path-to-the-draft-2013So far the list goes: 20: Syracuse 19: Ohio St. 18: LSU 19: Alabama 16: Mich State 15: Memphis 14: Kansas 13: UNLV 12: GA Tech 11: Florida 10: Texas Originally I expected GU to get screwed, but now it appears we will be in the top 10. UNC, Duke, Kentucky, UCLA, UConn, and Arizona will likely mix around for the top 6. I expect us to be 7, ahead of Michigan and Wake Forest. Definitely a fun and interesting series/debate. Interested in the thoughts of the board.

Dikembe-NBA Finals ZO-NBA Champ Reid AI-NBA Finals Jerome Othella Jahidi Sweetney Jeff Roy-East Finals

Don't forget NBA Champion Jaren Jackson.
Our list is pretty outstanding at the top, with: 3 Likely Hall of Famers (Deke, Zo, AI) 1 MVP(AI) 1 ROY (AI) 1 multiple scoring title winner (AI) 2 multiple DPOYs (Deke and Zo) 2 champs (Zo, JJ)) 4 All Stars (HOF+ Roy) Future All Stars in Jeff and Greg
Most of the rest have been solid NBA contributors over long careers.
I think that may justify us over AZ Duke and UCLA they only have 1(!!!!!!)clear HOF player between them (Grant Hill) the only thing holding us back from them is that they have a ton more NBA players since 89 than us. (although some of their younger guys like Irving, Westbrook, Love are too early to tell.) Jay Williams may have been on his way had he not gotten into that accident.

Looks like were at least top 5. I actually would have been floored if that was not the case.

Hard to imagine being ranked any higher than 5th, though. GU's top 3-5 is as strong or stronger than any of the other remaining 4 (assume it is Duke, UNC, Kentucky, and UCon), but the depth is simply not comparable.

Its going to be really interesting to see how it all plays out. I think if you are talking about putting a team on the floor and playing the games we are unbeatable. We have the best top players. The only place we fall behind is pure number of players but we arent even that far behind there.

Staff should use this as a marketing tool to recruits.

Jaren's classmate Charles Smith would also like to be added to the list and regrets that he could not stay in the league longer cause he would have ended up near the top if his potential had continued to flourish. But alas... Don't forget NBA Champion Jaren Jackson. Our list is pretty outstanding at the top, with: 3 Likely Hall of Famers (Deke, Zo, AI) 1 MVP(AI) 1 ROY (AI) 1 multiple scoring title winner (AI) 2 multiple DPOYs (Deke and Zo) 2 champs (Zo, JJ)) 4 All Stars (HOF+ Roy) Future All Stars in Jeff and Greg Most of the rest have been solid NBA contributors over long careers. UK at #4 so we're at least top 3. Not too shabby.

Twitter must know about this, someone must tell them that in the modern era GTown is at least 1 of the 3 best destinations to go if you have your eyes on becoming a PRO…

The other option is Eammon just totally forgot about Gtown and did rank them. I remember Gary Parrish doing this one week in his Top 25 (and one).
