In this business, you can never have enough information. For whatever reason, there are always players who cast a mystifying spell over you. Maybe it's because of bad evaluations or not enough evals, but something is holding you back. Here are five guys I need to see this month. Interestingly, they're all frontcourt players. 5. Elbert Robinson, C, 2014: Will this be the summer he breaks through? I know he's gotten a lot of publicity lately, but my evaluation is not finished and it would be nice to better determine if he's merely a high-major signee or a guy who's good enough to build around. This is pretty much how I view Elbert.. Very good player, great deal of potential but I'm not sure if he fits JT3's system.. They haven’t seen him Etomic. His AAU team plays in a bunch of smaller tournaments that doesn’t get a lot of attention. The only time they may have is in a camp setting most likely, if at all..

I hear you Yaboy and in fairness to Telep he did say there may not be enough evaluations out there on Elbert.. Also When commenting on Chukwu in the article he states camps aren't the best environment to evaluate 7 footers.. Unless JT3 is changing his system I'd like to see more of a face-up 5 like Turner or Skal or Zimmerman or Dastrup , I'd even take Quadri Moore or Matt Cimino... It's not that I think all of these players are better than Elbert cause they're not, I just think they may fit better in the system JT3 runs...

JTIII runs an NBA system with Princeton principles as a fall back.....is Elbert not adequate for that?

Couple updates from Twitter:
Kevin Schneider @bigshotsreport 42m Georgetown's John Thompson III & Louisville's Rick Pitino attending BIG SHOTS MYRTLE BEACH to track Dallas Seawolves 6'11 C Elbert Robinson (this is coming up next week)
Steve Jones @stevejones_CJ 21h As @thelutesmamba mentions, UofL big-man target Elbert Robinson listed at 7-0.5, 322 pounds with 7-5 wingspan. Heights are with shoes
Wow, I think Roy Hibbert had a wingspan of 7-4, so Elbert may end up even larger if he grows another inch or two.

Dave Telep @davetelep 32m Elbert Robinson is likely out for camp with a concussion. Hits keep coming. Btw, Shouldn't there be some concern with Elbert's weight? Earlier this spring his weight was listed between 270-280 and now he's weighing in at 322... That's too high even for a 7 footer

Dave Telep @davetelep 6h Anthony Davis has a 7-5.5 wingspan. Elbert Robinson measured 7-5 at LeBron Camp. Geesh.

Robinson certainly has talent, but to me it seems like he may not be a great fit with the rest of the class. Perhaps I'm overthinking it--and generally speaking I think it's tough to read too far into our recruiting. But so far we've landed
a) an athletic true point guard in Campbell b) a very bouncy/athletic swingman in Peak c) a very bouncy/athletic combo forward in Campbell
To me, these look like the ingredients for a team that's going to play to its athleticism and get up and down the court a bit. A guy like Robinson who is enormous and who has weight issues that don't seem to be going away just doesn't seem like a match. I'm all in favor of bringing in the most talented guys and making it work, but it just seems like the staff is moving in a couple directions. On the one hand they're improving the team athleticism--which many fans have clamored for for years--with guys like Campbell, Peak, and Copeland. On the other hand, it seems like they're doubling down on a more deliberate half-court style with guys like Robinson and last year's new additions of Cameron and Josh Smith. I am not sure how it all pieces together, but the strategy is a little puzzling on the surface.

I am not sure how it all pieces together, but the strategy is a little puzzling on the surface. Going forward, I wouldn't worry too much about Cameron fitting in with guys like Copeland, Peak, Campbell, etc .. He's not a high flyer by any stretch of the imagination, but he's very smart, knows how to run the floor and understands floor spacing. As far as Robinson is concerned, he's obviously talented and we need size, so it's understandable why the staff is on him, but my concern is less about fit - although I completely understand where you're coming from - and more about bringing in guys who are overweight but used to playing at that weight. It's a grind of dizzying proportions for guys his size to lose that kinda weight and keep it off and I'd hate to bring in a kid who will end up being a project due simply to his conditioning, or lack thereof.

ideally, we'd like to get Myles, but he's unlikely.
