Elbert stated today in an interview with L'ville on 247 that he's not making a decision until he takes his "officials" Says G'town, L'ville. Kansas, OSU & Ok State are all equal right now.. I stated earlier in this thread that I'd pass on Elbert but I've completely changed my mind!! I'm all in now.. IDHoya scoot over we have to make room on the bandwagon for Etomic... Hahaha! Thanks Yaboy.. Better late than never I always say..

Can anyone give a sense of what Rankin wrote in his article?

He actually sounds like a taller Josh Smith.

Alex Kline Excerpt: 2014 center Elbert Robinson has a top five, but that doesn't mean he isn't keeping others in consideration. Arizona, Kansas State and Texas A&M are still in the loop, but they didn't make his official top five at the moment. The big man from Texas has already taken an official visit to Georgetown and has the Hoyas on his list, along with Ohio State, Louisville, Kansas and Oklahoma State. georgetown.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1516016

Really, just show them some highlights of Big Roy and include his comments about GU and JT3. Next.

hoopniks.com/nbpa-top-100-camp-4th-session/The big man match-up was quite a site for the eyes throughout all parts of the game. In both the first and third quarters the two largest players in the camp went against each other in the 6’10” 270 pound Elbert Robinson of Texas and 7’2” 260 pound Tanveer Bhullar of Canada. Both players were somewhat quiet from a scoring standpoint, but they both kept each other at bay on the boards and set rattling screens. Robinson scored off a lefty put-back, while Bhullar dropped in a soft 12 foot jump-shot. In the second half, the Grizzlies put Robinson back in the game due to a depleted roster and he went against the 7’0” 200 pound 2016 string bean in Thon Maker. With the large weight discrepancy, Robinson tried to demand the ball in the post. To his credit, Maker did a pretty good job using his length and quickness to try and offset the weight difference, but a few times Robinson established position close to the basket and there was nothing that Maker could do as he watched Robinson lay the ball up easily. - See more at: hoopniks.com/nbpa-top-100-camp-4th-session/#sthash.zcCH7tk2.dpuf

I especially like that he carves out space around the basket and finishes everything strong.

He's definitely dropped a good amount of weight, and it shows in his lift and confidence, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Looks very strong, but also far leaner than a Kennedy Meeks or Josh Smith. If he keeps up the good work, Elbert could be a serious beast.

Big man Elbert Robinson sets Louisville visit While it's sometimes difficult for big men to dominate in a camp setting, Elbert Robinson found ways to boost his stock by staying on the block. Robinson dominates the low block. (Kelly Kline/Under Armour) The 6-foot-10, 265-lb. post player from Lakeview Centennial (Texas) averaged 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds at the camp. While he still needs to run the floor more effectively and become more mobile on the offensive end, Robinson's ability to carve out a spot on the block and make himself available for entry passes is impressive. “I'm outrebounding people, fighting on the block, fighting for position,” Robinson said. “Scoring the ball, blocking shots.” Georgetown, Kansas, Ohio State and Louisville are among the schools in pursuit. “Next month, I plan on going to Louisville on an official visit,” Robinson said. A decision will likely come by the end of the fall. www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/22464940/notebook-jordan-mclaughlin-lists-eight-prospects-set-visits

After watching some film of him, gotta believe Elbert's the #1 recruiting priority for the staff at this point in time. We got our PG in Tre, we got our athletic F in Ike. Now we need a true big and Elbert is that and then some. He looks like an ideal college big recruit as he's not explosive enough at this point to be a 1-and-done or maybe even 2-and-done. However, he'd be perfect with the rest of the roster that the staff has assembled.
I very much like Paul White, LJ Peak, Devin Robinson and others that the staff is recruiting. But this guy Robinson has to be the top priority.

He also knows where his money will be made and doesn't stand out on the wing shooting jumpers. I'd put III and Sutton on him, keep Hardy on the chi kids and have Broadus on Devin. Full court pressure....

insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/basketball/mens/story/_/id/9445121/dave-telep-starting-5-angel-delgado-rebounding-five-best-summer-stories-more-basketball-recruiting-buzzPersonal July hit list Every year around this time, before heading out for July's slate of big events and open evaluation periods, I go through my files and figure out whom I need to spend more time evaluating. In this business, you can never have enough information. For whatever reason, there are always players who cast a mystifying spell over you. Maybe it's because of bad evaluations or not enough evals, but something is holding you back. Here are five guys I need to see this month. Interestingly, they're all frontcourt players. 5. Elbert Robinson, C, 2014: Will this be the summer he breaks through? I know he's gotten a lot of publicity lately, but my evaluation is not finished and it would be nice to better determine if he's merely a high-major signee or a guy who's good enough to build around. This is pretty much how I view Elbert.. Very good player, great deal of potential but I'm not sure if he fits JT3's system..

Elbert is the only missing piece for our 2014 class! Let's get this done! I'm feeling a Final Four in our near future.
