I'm in the DeLorean now, with the speedometer reaching the upper 80s. The flux capacitor is blinking (apparently, that's all it does), and the target date is set for 11/1/12. I'm going to post on this board that we are going to be ranked #5 at the end of the regular season and you guys are going to complain about it. I am prepared for the abuse. And while I'm at it, I'm going to drop a nickel on the Ravens, who were just rolled by Texans 43-13. Anyone want a piece of that action? Very true (and funny). No complaints from me. Just trying to understand why the love for Louisville, because I wasn't overly impressed with them when we played them. I think I get it now -- they are essentially the same as us (record, etc.), but had a better week and started ranked higher. Makes sense. Pretty stoked to be a top 5 team this year. They also lost to us by one point at Verizon. As we saw with Marquette, one point wins at home do not guarantee success in rematches on the road.

I was a little surprised to see Louisville a spot ahead of us at #4 today. They did go 2-0 vs. our 1-1, and while I was hoping we'd get more credit with our 22-point beatdown of #17, I guess 15+ point wins over Cincinnati and Notre Dame are nothing to sneeze at. Then again, we beat them in regular season, hold the tiebreaker over them, and are the #1 seed going into the Big East Tournament.
It bothered me more that Lunardi projected them the last #1 NCAA seed at this point, over us. Maybe he took personally the "Lundardi sucks" chant at Game Day?
We have a chance to prove we're better than them at the Big East Tournament this week. Lastly, I don't think this will happen, but if we make it further than them this week and they STILL get a better NCAA seeding than us, I'll be livid.
A lot on the line this week. I think that we basically control our own destiny at this point. If we win the Big East Tournament, depending on what other teams do, I think there is a very good chance that a #1 seed awaits.
In terms of those "other teams," I'd keep a particularly close eye on Kansas and Miami this week.

If we win the BET we will be a #1. If not we don't deserve it.

Agree. But, man, a #5 ranking and a likely #2 seed is amazing. There's nothing that could happen now, short of big upsets in both tourneys, that could kill my euphoria. If we make it to the BET semis and NCAA 16, I'm happy. We *should* do better and, if we do, I'm even happier. Hoya Saxa!
