Someone mentioned it recently but does Fox have anything for online streaming options, like WatchESPN? Isn't all NFL streaming done by the NFL?

I do not think Fox Sports has anything setup yet akin to WatchESPN, which if that is the case, it will be very hard to catch the game.

Fox Soccer has a pretty comprehensive (and expensive) online viewing platform, I think. Shouldn't be too tough to incorporate hoops when the time comes, hopefully it will be available to everyone. As a DirecTV viewer, I can't get WatchESPN on all platforms, for example. www.foxsoccer2go.com/

While many networks do carry Speed (which will be converted to Fox Sports 1), I am not sure that Fox Sports 2 (which is the current FUEL network) is generally carried. If a lot of our games end up on Fox Sports 2 and it doesn't become more accessible, that will be a problem for exposure, especially if no online options exist.

Speed is in 80M homes and Fuel is in 40M homes right now. For a baseline, ESPN is in 100M homes. However, that's what their distribution is as Speed and Fuel. I'd imagine we'll be seeing those number rise drastically as all sports networks.

The biggest concern, especially for out-of-town fans, is if the contract requires all conference games to be covered. The past ESPN deal required every conference game to be covered on an ESPN outlet (ESPN, ESPN2, U, 3/WatchESPN). Unless Fox converts it's assets from the Soccer2Go product into a more general FS1/2 stream, we could go from every game being available to a much smaller number. It will also be interesting to see what happens to the ESPN Regional games that currently air on MASN and WatchESPN. Most conferences have gone to market with a streaming solution (either WatchESPN or a new product ala the Pac12) so that all games especially for revenue sports are available. I hope that the presidents have considered this, as it would be disappointing to have the number of televised games significantly decrease.

Interesting article on the partnership between ESPN and Fox Sports recently: www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2013/03/04/Media/ESPN-Fox.aspx"It started with a surprising partnership around the Big 12 Conference and continues with this week’s planned announcement around the Catholic 7. The amount of collaboration between ESPN and Fox Sports over the past two years has resulted in a partnership that is unprecedented in sports media as the two formerly bitter rivals have united on some of the biggest media rights deals. The unlikely bond has been topic A in sports media circles for a year. NBC executives have started to refer to the ESPN-Fox combo derisively as “FOSPN” inside their 30 Rock office." "At the press conference announcing the channels, Fox Sports also will unveil its 12-year, $500 million media rights deal for the Catholic 7, the group of basketball schools that is negotiating to break away from the Big East to set up its own conference. As part of that deal, Fox already has held informal talks about sublicensing a package of games to ESPN. That move follows ESPN’s six-year, $130 million media rights deal for the Big East. In that deal, ESPN already has held informal talks about sublicensing a package of games to Fox Sports." "Interestingly, ESPN has talked with both Fox and CBS about sublicensing Big East games, and Fox has talked to both ESPN and CBS about sublicensing Catholic 7 games. Thus far, NBC has not been part of either discussion, according to several sources."

This whole sublicensing discussion between FOX and ESPN and sounds like even CBS, makes me feel very good about the prospects of this league. To get exposure on the major CBB networks would be terrific. Everything that is coming out about this new conference seems to get better and better. Way to go Georgetown and the rest of the C7 for going all in when FOX approached.

Also: COLLEGE BASKETBALL – Dozens of exclusive prime time games on Monday and Thursday nights, plus Saturday and Sunday coverage of the Big 12, Pac-12 and Conference USA. Move Big Monday to FS1, add Super Thursday on FS1, and split weekend games among Fox, ESPN, and CBS? Sounds good to me
