Why 9pm on a Saturday night? Weird The timeslot is great, if it weren't Spring Break and if it weren't Rutgers! You'd have an entire day to writhe in anticipation of a fantastic matchup and there'd probably be a lot of socialization concurrently ... and then you're downtown before and after so the big Georgetown game becomes an integral part of a Big Night Out. We've been blocked out of evening Friday and Saturday games seemingly forever (prior to this season) due to being Tenant #3 at our home away from home. The Express (the one with Otto on the cover Tuesday at least) repeated an earlier ad offering buy-one/get-one tix for Saturday's game. I wish Georgetown would do just a little bit more than that in the next two days to try to roust a crowd from the local population. Heck, go over to the Convention Center with a guy in a sandwich board and push whatever doctors or insurance salesman are in town to buy a ticket on impulse. That's what seemingly happened for the Cincy game a couple years ago (in which Chris Wright's arm was broken) ... I was surrounded in 107 by various guys in Big Ten and Big 12 and SEC shirts who "just wanted to see one of the top offenses in the country in action" as one of them put it.

I can't believe they keep making us play games after these wins...
Real downer students won't be around. Stonewalls will have to carry the load. Hopefully we get a decent crowd regardless for the night game. Will be an interesting test to see if the time slot helps us with the regular fans or not.
Heads down keep it going. It's winning time

9PM start, I guess it's our turn in the BE contract to fill this time slot. After all, ESPN just looks at it as program content.

As posted elsewhere, minutes do not matter game to game. He is 19 and seemingly tireless. III should rest Porter only if he needs it in the game on Saturday. Playing 40 vs. 20 minutes on Saturday will have no impact on his performance the next game. None. "Seemingly" being the key word there. I'll leave it up to Otto and the coaching staff to decide what's best for Otto and the team and whether 40 mins vs. 20 mins will have an effect on his performance the next game.

Time for the community to get out and support this team. There have been few teams in my lengthy career as a Hoya fan who deserve more support for their effort and determination in overcoming many challenges. The ability of a team to thrive in a transition year is very important to sustain long term viability as a national program. Notwithstanding the huge leap that Porter has made this year, without significant growth by several players (and frankly the coach), this team would be middle of the pack in the Big East.

they bought in cal. I agree with all you've said. I know March is the barometer, but this also goes along way towards recruiting. More highlights, more shine, more respect. Btw, did anyone see Dajuan's tweet? I was somewhat surpised because of some of what I've heard about him, but he clearly follows the team and is as excited as anyone else about these Hoyas.

I saw DaJuan's tweet. Great to see that. Jeff's was great too. In your face Rudy Gay!

Win this game and we are likely ranked #6 in both polls (moving ahead of Michigan and Florida). Take care of business!
On a side note, I am sure Gonzaga is a great team and will do some damage in March, but are their best wins all year against Kansas St. and Oklahoma St.? Are they really worthy of that #1 ranking?

Also, one out of #3 Duke and #5 Miami will lose this weekend, as they play each other (and Duke has a tough test tonight at UVA, so it's possible both will lose).
Beat Rutgers, and it will be the Hoyas' first top-5 appearance in a while!

The AP/Coach's poll take pretty decent pre-season rankings and then move people up and down almost solely based on wins and losses, most time irrespective of opponent or where it was played. Very few, if any, voters, are doing anything else than that. It is what it is.

So without Carter there, we just need to clamp down on Mack from the perimeter and not get abused on the boards like we did last game. They have not been a good road team this year, so we just need to execute and not look past this game.

Seagers isn't half bad and Dane Miller was playing a little better in Carter's absence.

If we win well be higher than that. 1 lost, 4 lost, and either 3 or 5 will lose. No way were not top 5 next week if we win. Also with some help we could get to to 3.

Big difference playing in Verizon vs the RAC. Gotta stay focused and take care of business. You get wins one at a time, so play the games that way. GO HOYAS!!! Beat the Scarlet Knights.
