Nuff said. ;D I will miss you, Mr Porter, when you depart from Gtown soon, but thanks for giving us a classic to remember you by. And you may not yet be done with said classics. In the meantime welcome officially to The Great Hoyas Pantheon. A space with your name on is reserved for you.

Whether he leaves or stays, the kid has had a season for the ages. Truly one of the all-time greats at Georgetown.

Is it me, or is he the best we've had in the JT3 era? He single handedly took on Cuse and beat them.

He is the best all around player in the JT3 era. I don't know if he is better than JGreen. Otto has Jeff beat in most skill categories but Jeff was a better passer and slightly more physical..........

This really is not a bad comparison at all. Thanks. 6'8 small forward who came out of nowhere from a small rural town. Plays mostly beneath the rim but rebounds hard, has a great basketball IQ and owns a money jumpshot.

Otto is only a sophomore too. Comparing him to Jeff Green is probably not even fair and yet he matches up very well. Let's all watch this ride continue.

It's an awful comparison if you consider what the respective skillsets are. Whatever. Monstrous game from Otto.

That's a tough comparison too in terms of who they are as players. In terms of who is more valuable to their team (Jeff as a junior and Otto as a soph), that would be an interesting conversation.

It's an awful comparison if you consider what the respective skillsets are. Whatever. Monstrous game from Otto. Thanks for your contribution and insight. Personally I feel it is much better than most of the lame Otto comparisons I read time after time. Otto is no Larry but considering he is a really tall guy who has a nose for the ball, a knack for making the right play, the feathery touch which is the eny of all and an all-around winner...I think I'll stick with my comparison.

I think awesome comparison given that we are 2 years into this kid's high level ball career. Not sure how its "awful" tas, maybe you can elaborate. But, I've watched JTIII teams religiously from 04-on and he is the best I've ever seen in the current era.

Maybe now he will be Otto Porter, and his father will be Otto Porter, Sr.

If you're talking about 2 guys that help in every category, I get what you're saying but, in terms of watching the two players, they're not similar. Larry Bird handled the ball often? Otto specializes in drilling 3's with a defender (or two) right in his face? Otto posts his defender often and effectively? Bird would have killed for Otto's athleticism and Otto would likely kill for Bird's touch. They are similar in size though. I guess that counts for something.

Dude, newsflash: it's time to start calling Otto a 3 pt shooter with touch. He's just killing it from behind the arc and has the best shooting touch in college.
