Comments referenced earlier here. Judging from his body language seems like the staff needs to pick up the phone… Absolutely shameful that the staff lost contact with this kid.. How hard is it to make a call or text to a potential recruit? Getting back in with Devin should be Sutton's 1st recruiting assignment. I'm sure he's familiar with him from his time @ GW

I expect a very big push in recruiting from the new staff.

Recruiting isn't just quantity, it's about quality, especially in basketball. When a coach goes out to recruit a player it is a human being going out to make a connection with a young man to see if he would be a good candidate to join the family. Most schools don't just talk to as many players as possible just to cast a wide net they focus on the players that they prefer. The players like it more when it's a personal recruitment because it makes the whole process more genuine. Sure somebody on the staff can send some attention his way, but what use is it if the staff doesn't think he's a priority right now?
But I agree with above, I think maybe the reshuffling of coaches will change things.

We all could just Twitter bomb Coach Sutton (@coachsutton) and tell him we really, really, really hope the staff reconsiders and offers Robinson ASAP.
Just throwing it out there.

I liked him after I saw the highlight videos, but I loved his interview. He seems mature, humble and classy. I really hope we get back in on this recruitment.

I would love to see the same recruiting intensity that John Thompson showed while recruiting Othello Harrington and Duane Spencer. According to (Joe and Millicent Harrington) personal conversation Big O was seriously looking at Miss St and LSU and Spencer was thought to be a done deal for Dale Brown (LSU)..... Hope the new guys would look at Jalen Lindsey.

As much as he sounds like a good fit, the program has other priorities.
C, PF, sg. Hope we secure E Robinson first before we go after anyone else.

Watched more video on Robinson last night. The guy is a Forward all the way, he does not have the handle to play SG IMO.
First off the kid has incredible bounce and he looks to dunk everything with no mercy for whomever chooses to co-star with him on that poster. He want to dunk on you, he wants to embarrass you, and if you jump with him he will try and put u in the basket, this is fact. He is an accurate shooter and has deep range. His shot kind of reminds me of Ryan Kelly because he does make a lot, he has a ton of confidence in it, but his release is not super quick similar to Kelly’s.
Due to his lack of a superior handle he did not do much of the bounce. He made a couple shots of 2 dribble pull ups, he had a couple descent drives but all his movements were linear. Meaning if he started right he went right, if he started left he went left. Not a lot of shiftiness to his game which is probably a result of him not having a lot of confidence in his dribbling ability.
Love his game and it’s clear his best basketball is ahead of him. I do think there is a legit question to be asked on how him and Copelands games compliment each other however..

Yaboy, I thought forward too after watching his videos last night. With the size of his hands, wingspan, and recent growth spurt, I'm wondering if he will get to 6'9"-6'10" when all said and done.

IF he grows to 6'9 or 6'10 well that's different than being a 6'7 SF. We have plenty of those guys. We need bigs ( ERob ) and a shooter.

He's a forward. He's 6'8" with a wingspan of 7'1". He does not need to grow more to be a forward in college.

But if he is the same size as Issac, and the same size as Cameron, and the same size as Domingo, and the same size as Greg... Well he becomes a little redundant.
Not saying we shouldn't pursue him, just the program has other needs first.

Not saying we shouldn't pursue him, just the program has other needs first. Cameron is a 4 type player, Domingo is a 2 type player and it's not outlandish to think GW may make the jump after next season Either way I don't see how having a team full of 6'-7" to 6'-"9 versatile/interchangeable type players is a bad thing. I'd take a team full of them if I could..

Because stick thin 6'9" guys can be great as small forwards, but there are times when you need a true center or back to the basket forward to either defend the other team's big or pound the ball inside to. There are also times when you need a little guy to break the press and run through the trees.
I like having these interchangeable long guard/forwards as much as the next guy, and when it comes to perimeter defense there may be nothing better. But man wouldn't it have been nice to have a Josh Smith type space eater to give us a different look this past season? Or another guard to give Markel a rest every once in a while?

Love Dev, but enj is correct; a C, SG and PF are greater priorities.

but by looking at the class of 2015, we have terrance mann and franklin howard as SG (both have hoyas very high), and hopefully a powerful PF like derrickson. At this point if we got elbert and devin robinson with tre and isaac i think we would have a pretty good looking team. Plus 2014 freshman year is when we will have big size (moses, josh smith, mikael) all as seniors. Plus we will finally have scoring depth!

I wasn't being that literal SD, I was just saying having 4 or 5 of those type kids on a 13 man roster isn't a bad thing at all..

I am not opposed to bringing him on board. But not at the expense of a big man.
