UK's best wins are Maryland (RPI: 75th) and Ole Miss (48), I think. If Ole Miss falls out of the Top 50 and Kentucky (44) doesn't beat Florida or Mizzou (33), they really won't have a quality win to speak of.
But they get both Missouri and Florida at home.

I predict a play in game between UNC and UK for an 11 seed.

I never cease to be astounded by how quickly some of these threads can go off-topic. Somehow, in a matter of 9 posts, we've gone from discussing the Cincinnati game to whether or not we're a 1 seed (Possible? Sure. Likely? Lol) to whether or not Kentucky will make the tournament.

If we are in position to be even discussing a 1 seed, it means we'll be in such good shape it won't really matter. While a one would be nice, given where we came from this season, I would be happy with a 2 or 3 seed, as well. I think if we can win the Big East, a 3 seed is very reasonable (perhaps likely).

As we all know by now, NCAA seeding doesn't matter where the Hoyas are concerned.

rockhoya, If we finish as you say; we should be a 1-seed...howeva (in my Stephen A. voice), this thing gets political when a bunch of overpaid stiffs in a boardroom make biased opinions based on their alma mater. I'll bet UK and UNC make the tourney. Yeah, but there are probably not going to be any teams that finish with fewer than 5 losses, heck maybe even 6. If we finish with one more loss that most likely means we win at least a BE regular title and/or a BET title. We have a legitimate top 10 POY candidate. We have an elite defense. If we were to only lose one more game the entire season there is really no way we wouldn't get a 1 seed.

Dude, I never cease to be astounded when somebody complains about a thread not being strictly about what it was intended to be. Just because you're not following the discussion doesn't mean others aren't. Would you like to offer some insight about this bearcat team in relation to others or ours, or would you just like to continue complaining about a lack thereof?

Listen "dude", I'm all for discussion about where we stand as a program, our seeding potential (which Big Dog has astutely pointed out has very little meaning for us recently), and our chances of finishing the season with only 1 more loss. But it belongs in it's own thread. And discussing Kentucky and UNC's chances really doesn't belong anywhere. And if you go back and read the actual topical discussion in this thread, you'll see I've offered some opinions on our matchup. Dude.

Before the MU game, I would have been really really concerned about the rebounding in this game. I feel a little better, but a key to this game is taking care of the boards. The other keys are to keep up our oustanding perimeter D and control Wright (you can't control him, you can only hope to contain him...).

I would love for the NCAA tournament to actually look at match ups when they make the tournament field up. I would much rather get a team I match up better with for being a higher seed rather than being closer to home.

I have to agree I was much more concerned before I saw how our guys, Hopkins in particular, stepped up on the boards vs. Marquette. Wright is talented, but as his fg%/3p% suggests, he can be forced into bad shots and I fully expect our perimeter D to be able to do that. If we clean up the rebounds like we did against Marquette, I like our chances a lot. That and we can't let them bump/hold us to the point that we get rattled and frustrated on offense. Again, I think the Marquette game quelled some of those concerns for me as well.

Thank you Mods for locking up a certain thread about O---. Plenty of time to discuss after April 8.

Now while I enjoy daydreaming about a 1 seed, I think we can't forget that this team, while playing well at the moment, still has a small margin for error. We are capable of beating any team in the country, and as shown against USF, we can lose to anyone in the Big East. The first goal for this team should be winning the Big East regular season and beating a tough Cincy team on the road would be a big step in that direction

I am not even getting remotely excited about winning the BE yet. While I feel good, there are too many tough match-ups coming. The team is playing really well and they are a great group to root for. Just hope they can continue, and depth (or lack thereof) doesn't become an issue.

As painful and depressing as it was at the time, that USF loss could turn out to be the key to our successful season.

Two top-ten defenses versus two so-so offenses. Nobody should be surprised if neither team scores 50.
Thanks, BubbleVision. Man I'm glad they unblocked YouTube at work.

Has a game thread that discussed potential seeding ever resulted in a win?

Has a game thread that discussed potential seeding ever resulted in a win? I dont think so, but on that note, I think we will be a 4/5 seed. Why because that is how it will be. Thanks for the laugh Boz.
