Part of me is incredulous we are even having this conversation. I enjoyed JT Jr as coach. His strength from my point of view was the defensive intensity his teams brought. For the time when I was a fan, his teams were frequently horrific in the half court offense. And some couldn't shoot from the outside period. JT3 teams' offense are a work of art compared to some of what I endured from '88 until his hiring. +1

As far as game coaching goes, Calipari is pure crap. He "recruits" well if recruiting means buying talent. He's crap. And, at least as egregious as his practices and lack of coaching is his penchant for throwing his kids under the bus and taking zero responsibility for his guys not playing well. They don't play well because they don't get coached but you stay classy Coach Cal by saying that you should have lost by 50 and not 30. Here's to hoping you lose by 50 just to see what you'll say next. If you don't teach your guys anything, you can't expect them to know anything. Dude is scum and, bar none, the most overrated "coach" at the college level. He's a great recruiter in the sense that HSBC is a great bank. If the rules don't apply to you, it's not hard to excel. As far as actual coaching goes, he's crap and he's part of what's wrong with college basketball. I find it stunning that anyone argues that he's remotely good. He still has 3 guys projected to go in the first round this year. He had four and managed a 25 national ranking. And this board craps on our coach. We have Otto in the first... lower, btw, on every projection than Noel. But Cal is a great coach. Really? He sucks. It's not disputable. If you can't even be ranked with 3 first round draft picks, you're a crappy coach. Period. If you're 25 with 4 first rounders and a consensus top 2 pick, you're worse than bad. At that point you're not even drinking the Kool Aid. You're drinking the generic version of Kool Aid and loving it.

Cal still has plenty of size and talent and he can't stay within 10 pts of UT. Man if Noel would have made the right choice we would have dominated the BE and wouldn't have more than one lose now..................oh well..........his lose..........

id, that's always been the rumor. Maybe it bothers me less because I never think about Memphis and neither does anyone else. He won't be talked about in the glowing way that Calipari will be during a game that has nothing to do with either of them by a guy like Vitale. It's just so overt and in your face the praise Calipari gets all the while it's well known that it's all types of shady and there's never any mention of that. I get that you can't call a guy out on national television for misdoings without physical proof but you also don't have to go out of your way to praise what a great job he's doing when the "job" he's doing is buying talent and underperforming. I'm just happy I won't have to see Ashley Judd cheering in the stands during a big game this year.

Today I got my bearclaw (actually cheese danish) for winning the GU-Cincy matchup. After buying for the last four games, it was good to be treated today. Hope this becomes a habit. ;D
