Huge offensive talent. Tremendous HS player at McKinley Tech. He had a strong freshman season as a Hoya but never seemed to really work on improving his game. His decision to declare for the NBA draft in '97 shocked everyone. Vic was one of the key players in a thrilling 1996 season. He and Iverson together at times was like watching a good NBA backcourt playing at the college level. It's a shame he could never leave the streets behind.

I had a cousin who used to play lunchtime basketball at the Winchendon Y who once ended up shooting baskets with Victor Page. My cousin was a probation officer but his encounter with Victor was not in an official capacity.

Page was the MVP of the 1996 Big East tournament, over guys like Iverson and Ray Allen. He was a really talented player, too bad he could not more fully realize that potential.

Am I weird that I don't take the word of a self-published ebook as 100% accurate? No, you're not-I'm also wary of "Self-Published Books," but this was NOT self-published...Having said that, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. You don't learn much that you can't already find on Google.

The "publisher" was ebooks2go, which is a service for independent authors and publishers to create ebooks. Amazon has no print copy.
For the purposes of judging quality, I see no reason to view this as a published book - i.e. a publishing house paid for it, edited, etc. I think someone wrote something and used a service to make an ebook of it.

Didn't he lose the sight in one eye from getting shot? I don't think someone with only one good eye would think he had the NBA in his future.

Victor supposedly was hanging by a thread academically when he decided to jump. But at the time it didn't sound like he or whichever family member was advising him had thought much about the basketball consequences of leaving early.
His greatest asset was his cajones - Victor came up hard and it showed in his game. But he made a very bad impression on NBA people soon after he left, and his career never really recovered.

Who was that kid who played for Maryland -- Egregious Vasquez?

Mods, please merge this if necessary, but at halftime of the Kansas/OK State halftime show, while going through the highlights, they made a mention of the "late Victor Page"
What in the world? This cant be right. Im not crazy because my buddy just texted me asking if "Victor Page died?"

I have no idea. The espn studio guy said "the late Victor Page" when mentioning the last freshman to score 30+ for us. Did a google search and found nothing

When I was younger...I always thought that it was a bad idea for Victor Page to leave after his Sophmore due to how raw and erratic his tended to become especially with out a 2nd top notch scorer like Allen Iverson as a back court mate.

hoya9797---I never knew Victor Page was forced out!!! When he left, I think... George Butler became our primary scorer the next year.
