@doctor: Greg Monroe (depending on service and time of year). My only point was that UConn has been really successful on the court (quite a bit less so in the classroom) but hasn't gotten monster classes or cream of the crop recruits. I shouldn't take the PoD bait but it's fun to do sometimes.

There's been buzz that he may reclassify and play a year of ball overseas before entering the draft. At least it's an option that is on the table.

Not done yet...
From article on Rivals: Next up on the docket for the Maker brothers will be a June 30th unofficial trip to Duke. When Thon heads out to Los Angeles for Adidas Nations at the end of the summer he will likely take trips to UCLA and down to Arizona while on the West Coast. Also in August, Smith hopes to take Maker by N.C. State and Georgetown and could also slip in visits to Kentucky and Indiana if time permits.

Interesting the school gave Maker's handler an assistant coach job....this doesn't bode well for us down the line...

He was never going to be a Hoya. Just found it interesting the top kid in high school would move north of the border.

Interesting quotes here. ukrecruiting.bloginky.com/2014/11/29/thon-maker-in-position-to-reclassify-join-2015-class/He said Maker will be looking for a program that needs him to play right away, but also one that would have plenty of other talent around him. As Smith put it, they’ll be looking for a team that is “a Thon Maker away from being a really good team.” “Kentucky, this year, doesn’t need Thon,” he said with a laugh. “Maybe next year, they all go. You know? So you have to look at the situation at that time.”If he does reclassify to 2015, it's highly doubtful UK needs him to play right away. Even if all their bigs go pro which is highly unlikely, they have Skal in tow already. We could definitely fit the description of what he's looking for, but that means we need to make noise this year.

Sounds like we have an outside shot. It would help if we could - somehow - reel in a high level PG. Our showing in the Bahamas probably helped - at least through the first two games.
Well - I put that one in the category of "long shots". It would be great if it happened, but I am not expecting anything.

Thon Maker will decide by January whether to reclass to 2015 from 2016, his guardian Ed Smith has said. Maker, who transferred to Athlete Institute in Orangeville, Ontario earlier this fall, is projected by many as the No. 1 pick in 2016. He has drawn comparisons to both Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett, although he needs to add weight and strength. Smith told the Lexington Herald-Leader Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana and Stanford were “very strong in recruiting us.” zagsblog.com/articles/thon-maker-and-brother-visited-kentucky-sunday/AUS BBALL PROSPECTS @australianbball 12m12 minutes ago Aussie prospects Thon Maker and brother, Matur, are both on campus at Louisville watching the Cardinals practice, per @jdemling

What we are is a Thon Maker away from being really good in '15. There's plenty of playing time available at C.

We have an excellent team for 15/16, assuming everyone with eligibility returns. We also have Govan and Derrickson coming in to help out up front. And there is plenty of PT available for Thon, should he want to sign on. Of course, he will have unlimited options as far as other schools that give him a schollie is a second. Well, what the heck. The "recruiting board" is all about dreaming anyway, right? And once in a while those dreams come true -- like with our entire freshman class this year. Sure, there are some kids we missed on who would have been great, but the kids we DID get? I'd take a group this good every year if I could.

Moses had a guardian for what it's worth. I'm not up on whether Thon's guardian is seeking luggage or not.
