It's been a few years Sky, but let's not forget the humiliation Roy Hibbert inflicted on Harangody when they matched up. for once the ND big man did NOT kill us

JTIII's either inability to recognize Hopkins' ineptitude on both ends of the court or his stubbornness to continue to play him is becoming embarassing. The offense is clearly more fluid with him not on the floor. He has incredible difficulty reading cuts. Has a horrible time finishing at the rim or with any type of contact. No one here can tell me they didnt hold their breath on his break away dunk. Defense is no better. He continues to reach. He continues to be out of position. He continues to be a fouling machine. I personally think the worst part is the statement it makes to the other players and Moses. Moses dominated on the boards against ND, argubably his best game as a Hoya...the reward? The bench the entire first half while Hopkins continues to see consistent minutes. I simply don't get it at this point. Also I am not saying Moses is Ewing. Clearly the position is lacking any type of go to guy but Hopkins is clearly not the right answer at this point. Also I am a JTIII guy and i respect standing by a player but not to the point where it negatively impacts a team (yes I know were up at half.

Hopkins had a couple of good plays on D so not 100% negative. He is definitely a liability on O and I think Moses would be more effective on D. Part of L'villes run in the first half was off of offensive boards--not saying Moses would have prevented them, but I think he had a better chance of pulling them down than Hopkins who has ONE rebound in the entire first half (not sure how many minutes he played)

Well, I guess III was thinking the same as you, Hopkins barely saw the floor in the second half. I agree with everything you wrote, but the good thing is III does too.

there's no defending Hopkins at this point... keep working hard in practice and spot duty during games...

Try Hayes? Use Moses more.

Hopkins shouldn't be playing at all...start Moses and then go small when he's not in there...Hopkins contributes nothing and he doesn't deserve to play over Moses who has clearly outplayed him

It always seems like were one player away. I guess leaving early and obvioulsy graduation has hurt us with this. It seems like if we had that dominant center or powerful rebounder we would be more of a complete team. Other years we have the center but young guards or poor outside shooting. I guess its hard to have every position the exact way you want it season in and season out.

I do wonder if our transfers are part of the problem. Also should we be using a more aggressive red shirt policy? Glad to see Aaron Bowen getting a few minutes, still not what we need on D and still hasn't mastered the offensive movement needed but such a fun player to watch. Seems that's some of the problem with Ayegba too. Still sad we didn't press the pressers at least once when we had Bowen in the game. Hopkins just needs to get used to not taking quick bad shots and let the possessions come to him. Not sure there is anyone who gets the Center roll fully except Lubick and while he is clearly much stronger and understands positioning and ball movement he is not tall enoughto score against taller player .

Aaron is by far the best athlete on the team...dude needs minutes because he gets stuff done on activity alone

Today it ends right? The starting lineup is Starks, DSR, Jabril, Otto, Nate next game. It has to be.
Hop can be a very experienced eighth man. And it's not bad to have if there's foul trouble.

Jabril and Otto are so active and athletic that it makes up for the lack of size there

How many games can we win without a real center? Moses needs to be in the starting lineup. DSR is the 6th man.
