If the Hoyas play like they did against MU, they will be competitive and be in position to win. However, Harrison is a wild card and if he gets hot, he could literally outscore these Hoyas on his own. That said, a defense-only effort could be enough to pull this one out.

This is a game that Thompson believe that he can't afford to lose..... and a game that St. John's believe that they can/should win. Will this be a Missouri and Indiana type game or a UTenn and Pitt type game? Go Hoyas!!!

Hoyas need to stop thinking and just play. Excellent point. I've thought this for a couple weeks now.

That's tough to do when you're in a thinking man's offense. Maybe the scholars in the Ivy League can make it work better?

Tru bk, but these kids are baskstball players first; instincts have to take over at some point. If you see something ain't. Working, create something for yourself that works and makes a play. I doubt III benches a kid for trying to make something happen when the teams offense is struggling.

Hoyas need to stop thinking and just play. Excellent point. I've thought this for a couple weeks now. Agreed. Last year the FR shone because the upperclassmen put them in the positions to make bball plays. This year they need to make more decisions on where to send the ball. They know where their options are and are frozen going through the list. As the season goes on they will go through the options quicker and play more naturally.

No reason OP and GW shouldn't be getting 16-18 ppg. Gotta be more aggressive and stop settling.

Ok, what the HECK is up with our scheduling times this year? Last one was a 9 pm game, and now this at 11 am?!?
Good thing this one is on ESPN2, because if it required a trip to a sports bar for some odd channel, they wouldn't even be open for MST and PST folks.
Given how long it seems to take, under the best of circumstances, for our players to wake up and realize a game is being played...well, this isn't good for us.

No reason OP and GW shouldn't be getting 16-18 ppg. Gotta be more aggressive and stop settling. I agree completely. Our recent performance and the ridiculous 11 am start have me worried. I'm going to the game with a friend that is a Johnnies fan and I really don't want to have to knock him out.

From CBS's weekend look ahead.
"Player trying to get rolling: There are a whole bunch of reasons why 19th-ranked Georgetown is 0-2 in the Big East, a slow and inefficient offense being just one of them. And though there's no obvious way to correct that issue halfway through the season, it would be nice for the Hoyas if D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera could make a shot every once in a while. The heralded freshman is 7-of-32 from the field in Georgetown's past seven games, 1-of-7 from the field in Georgetown's past two losses. If he and his teammates aren't better Saturday at St. John's, they'll drop to 0-3 in the Big East and be well on their way to finishing with a losing league record."
The last time a Hoya was featured in this section it was calling out Greg Whittington right before the Western Carolina Game. Whittington responded by dropping a career high 25 points. Hopefully this has a similar effect on DSR.

They had plenty of chance to wake up before the 9 p.m. Pitt game, and that did not work out so great - maybe this team is just a bunch of morning people!

The Hoyasaxa article again does not have the last 5 games accurate. The last 5 games should be:
12/31/09 at GU 66, SJU 59 1/3/11: at SJU 61, GU 58 1/26/11: at GU 77, SJU 52 1/15/12: GU 69, at SJU 49 2/12/12: at GU 71, SJU 61
Hoyas have won 4 of the last 5 against St. John's, 3 of 4 since Lavin came aboard and 3 in a row.

Our offense looks like it did after Chris broke his hand. We need to Markel to be as aggressive as Chris because that'll help open his passing lanes. He's a smart player with good finishing ability. If he becomes more aggressive and DSR stops playing like a freshman our offense will flow much better.

Our guys need to move better with out the ball. We need to cut harder and move to open spots against man and zone. On occasions we've gotten the ball into the paint teams collapse but were not moving to the open spots that the collapsing gives up so we're unable to take advantage.

Its been mentioned but our players are thinking too much when they get the ball. Ball movement is important because it causes chaos in the defense. If you are thinking too much and not moving the ball quickly, it gives more time for the defense to recover. We need to have quick passes and movement to make the defense rotate.
