ESPN definitely seems to be promoting Georgetown since we're on their channel this Friday. It's definitely a smart move to continue to be part of marquee games & tournaments that ESPN covers just so that we stay in the public (and recruits') conscious throughout the season; espn.go.com/ncb/notebook/_/page/dailyword131104/daily-word

On the flip side, good to see the promotion of the Big East by Fox on its site. The weekly column seems off to a good start.

While we want Fox Sports 1 to be successful for the sake of the Big East, I think it's important to maintain a strong relationship with ESPN. I know some people are bitter, but ESPN controls much of the sports information in the country, and we want to be part of that conversation. Of course, the easiest way for us to do that is to win, win, win.

I'm excited for this conference. I love that it's kind of like a brotherhood right now. We're all in this together and we WILL make this a premiere basketball conference. Of course it will only be a matter of time before I hate most of these programs.

Did anyone see Raf's BEast preview show on FS1? Enjoyed it. Very interesting stuff and JT III had a prominent role, along with Jay Wright. Hoyas guards are touted and mention of Smith made. JT III said pretty much what he has been saying about the team. There was a segment where JT III and Wright both praised Otto for what he brought to the team and the fact that he typifies the type of player that the Hoyas want to recruit. Key was saying that players with potential to play in the NBA must be focused on their team during their college careers, no matter how brief. Porter cited as an example of who you want on your team. One analyst picked the Hoyas to win the conference with 13 wins and argued that this conference is very even in terms of quality. Clearly no one is expecting much from Butler this year. Interesting comments about the improvement in DePaul's front court through the addition of some junior college height. Johnnies getting love for their talent and Nova will be running a 4 guard line-up this year. Also some love for the other two newcomers in Xavier and Creighton. Seton Hall expected to be better than projected due to Willard getting his players into the program now. Missed any mention of Providence and heard only a little about Marquette. Fox is doing its part to promote this conference. Now we need some competitive teams with a strong showing in the OOC schedule. Hope this helps.
