I didn't see this posted, but this is a great write-up on Val Ackerman. I think she'll do a great job:

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but Fox Sports 1 has finalized TV contracts with Directv dish bright house and twc which will give them an opening day launch of 90 million. This is HUGE for their future success and ours! touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-77033581/

Fox has also confirmed that the Fox Sports Go mobile app will be available for download this weekend so it looks like streaming Hoyas games on FS1 will definitely be an option this season.

Fantastic. I have Comcast (let's just say it's been an up and down ride), used to not get Speed Channel, but I noticed this week that I now get it, and keep clicking on it hoping that I may get some sort of preview of the new channel. Can't wait for Fox Sports 1!

Can't wait for Fox Sports 1! Check the tv guide because they have been doing 30 minute previews every few days.

Butler's Roosevelt Jones out for season after tearing ligaments in wrist. Second big blow for Butler. Second big off season injury for the new Big East.

In better news, Fox has acquired a tech start-up to assist with the relaunch of the crummy foxsports.com site:
Maybe they can get the same tech startup to assist with bringing the Big East website back to life. Thee AAC despite some content errors at least had a website up and going on july 1.

It astounds me that so many large corporations and organizations out there cant get online media/video content right. Its super hard to figure out how to do that stuff the first time, but this is 2013 and there are at least a dozen very successful examples out there of groups doing it right. There is no reason that a FS1 or NBCSn needs to be trying to develop this stuff internally. Just contract with Hulu or Amazon or Youtube. They have the expertise and the already recognized platform. It my cost a bit more but it will greatly improve the use experience and make them willing to come back and use your service.

I'm guessing thats why they acquired the startup company. Large company like Fox would rather have the control. Plus, by acquiring a startup they take almost no hit to financials as it is mostly goodwill. Any servicing agreement would should up as an expense.
