This may sound bad but at least he didn't go to Cuse or UK. I really didn't think he was the type of player that chooses GTown from the beginning. We need Otto/GW/Domingo to have big numbers to prove to recruits that our system is capable of producing great wings. So far that really hasn't happened.......... Hopefully we can get Dakari on campus and lock him down............

How so zeke? He's a top 5 recruit and kid from what I heard. How was he not the type of kid that chooses GU? Vonleh was a 4, those others you mentioned are 3/4 or 2/3. I agree about Dakari.

ID, I haven't seen JT3 win one of these recruiting wars for a high profile wing ever. I think the kid is perfect for our system but our image is that we don't allow individuals to really get off. Free getting sick was really bad for our recruiting because he was starting to really show bigtime offensive numbers within our system. You see a kid with what I call the and1 game and he isn't gonna want to come to GTown until one of our wings proves that big numbers can be had in our offense. Most of our ESPN hghlights don't get high profile recruits excited. We got lucky with GMonroe because he was a kid that appreciated the assist and he also was a true big. We need Otto,Greg, or Domingo to put up a 18-22 pt avg to show that the image isn't factual. Hollis' nickname is Hollywood. How many times did you see him do anything that made you think "Hollywood"?

HBS, I would bet that you couldn't get to 10...........out of 3 yrs......... I think Hollis' overall game improved and I think he is better off as a player because he came to GTown but 16-18 yr old don't see it that way. They want to see break someone down off the drbble drive and dunk on someone. Or throw and catch a bunch of ally oops. Back door cuts and good solid fundamentals isn't gonna do it for 5 star superstar recruits.......... My humble opinion............

I'm not saying you're completely incorrect, but if that were the case; GU wouldn't ever get anyone. I don't think Greg was luck because he grew up a Duke fan, his dad couldn't understand why he would NOT just commit to Duke (told me this himself) and the decision was completely his (was told this by both mom and dad). That being said, Vonleh was realistic, but IU did a great job AND publicly backed off Anya ( who they led for), which sent Vonleh a message. If you notice he went to IU, not UNC, Duke, KU or Kentucky, which tells you the work IU put in. If GU can get a few top 10 kids periodically and surround them with top 30-75 kids, they'll be successful. The key is stacking a few top classes together, imo.
