because he hasn't signed a LOI yet. It's a stupid rule.

Dunking takes away a lot of room for error. I think this is key and the main reason why we would want to see our guys dunk more often. The margin for error on a dunk should be pretty small if the players are taking good shots. There were countless times last year when we missed easy layups or close shots by our big guys. Even a small improvement in those situations would work wonders. I recall last year's Syracuse game where Sims and Hopkins went a combined 2-20. Obviously, those 18 missed shots weren't all missed layups, but I think dunking when it's available can only help our shooting percentage. I really think Hopkins will be good in the post. If he can finish his shots a little better than last year, I think he'll be a very good player for us. I am excited to see him play this year.

That better not have happened because that's a recruiting violation. How so? Any contact with recruits by boosters or formers players is not allowed--as an alum of the program--Roy and Jeff are considered boosters and unless they are on campus during a visit--they can't speak/contact kids. Remember the joke that John Thompson told at the Alonzo Mourning "Hometown" thing with Rick Reilly about having Ewing "walk" past Alonzo repeatedly at the Nike Camp? They can't speak to recruits. Social Media is same now--even though as mentioned above-you see it happen a lot. Not a major violation but it gets more severe if they called Cameron on the phone.

Well, I guess you better report it then! And I have yet to see any evidence that they called the kid.

I could care less--but if that happened as guy in thread said--then it should be self reported or someone will turn them in. Every team including Georgetown commit several violations a year due to stupidity of NCAA rulebook. If you give a recruit a piece of pizza that team is having after game and they are in lockeroom on unofficial--that is against rules. Gatorade out for everyone--and recruit takes one--that's illegal-he's supposed to go out to a machine and spend his own money. It's beyond stupid. Contact rules often most violated. During non contact periods/dead periods--if you call someone and hangup before they answer--they can call you back and know you want to talk. That's fine-but God forbid you offer someone something to eat.

Cameron tweeted that he felt blessed that Jeff and Roy called him to congratulate him on his commitment and like RDF stated, it's a violation.

Maybe if we repeat it enough times it will get picked up by the AP. Anyone else want to weigh in or, I don't know, tell the terrorists which nuclear power plants are most vulnerable?

This is serious. Now if we somehow arranged for Reggie to receive about a hundred grand in jewelry or to take phony classes, that would be a different story.

He tweeted that he won't be playing ball this fall due to an injury. Not sure what the injury is.

Nice night for Reggie last night at the NY vs. NJ Sharette Dixon Memorial Classic. At halftime, he received an Academic Excellence award... and after leading the NJ team w/ 23 points, he received a post-game Sportsmanship award. Karl Towns & Tyler Ennis were supposed to play for NJ, but it looks like they backed out. Even so, nice to see Reggie stand out on and off the court against alot of major D-I talent. rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1425541

I thought he was hurt? Guess it wasn't too serious of an injury (thankfully!)

espn insider link to "Standout Performances" from the game: es.pn/TtrIEE"Whenever a great shooter makes his first shot of the game, he’s typically on his way to a big night. That’s exactly what happened when Cameron opened the game’s scoring with a 3-pointer and never looked back. While his long-range jumper remained his bread and butter, he used his size and high release to score over top of opposing defenders inside the lane, spinning away off the catch and utilizing a variety of crafty maneuvers to free himself for buckets in all three ranges. His performance earned him MVP honors for the New Jersey squad."

Going foward we will need to keep our eyes on the defensive side of the equation. Glad he's with the good guys though.
