Domingo chose Georgetown, in part, because of his relationship with Georgetown Head Coach John Thompson, Assistant Coach Michael Brennan and the rest of the staff. Hopefully folks will stop ragging on the guy now.. NEVER!

Wow, not only did we score an awesome recruit, but I can catch him playing in SF. Any other SF Hoyas want to catch some games?

Nice, I'll try to organize one next year. Is Bellarmine the biggest rival or are there others?

Nice, I'll try to organize one next year. Is Bellarmine the biggest rival or are there others? Without going off topic, Sacred Heart Cathedral - the other big Catholic school in SF - is their biggest rival. Not sure how good SHC will be this year, but they lost in the D3 Calif. state finals last year. PM me and we'll organize something.

I've watched him play quite a bit. He's an excellent fit for Georgetown.
He has a very high basketball IQ and he's a good student to boot.
He has outstanding range on his jump shot, which is nearly unblockable because he tends to fade away.
He's probably more of a sniper his first couple years, but he's showing promise in other areas of his offensive game as well. He has a capable handle. I'd really like to see him develop more of a mid-range game.
Defensively, he'll do a good job. I don't know that you want him consistently guarding quick, penetrating guards on the perimeter, but he'll otherwise be a solid defender.
He rebounds fairly well. He's also a good passer with above-average vision for his position.

Agreed, but I think you guys are forgetting the biggest fish of them all: Aaron Gordon of Mitty, the #2 ranked player in the country for the class of 2013. This year's senior class is unusually top heavy with Gordon, Jabari Bird, and Domingo. Dunbar, the SI 2014 point guard is getting a ton of looks also, altho he's kinda short and can't finish. He's got incredible handles. Sacred Heart dominated SI, but their top two ended up going to UCR, a low mid-major. Domingo will have to beef up to dominate the WCAL, and he will likely redshirt at Georgetown. He's got a ton of upside, but he is not there yet--not close. Gordon could step on the court tomorrow and play in the NBA (altho he's out with a fractured toe).

You don't redshirt a top 30 kid in college basketball.

You don't redshirt a top 30 kid in college basketball. I guess you didn't get my inference. Domingo will need to add a lot of strength if he isn't going to redshirt. He has another year, so anything can happen. And I would question his top 30 ranking. That ranking has to be based on his potential, not production against other high school players. Could he end up that good--because a top 30 ranking implies NBA player in 3 or 4 years. Absolutely he could. Plus, he's a high character kid. But is he top 30 material in the class of 2013. In my opinion, no. He was dominated by top-1000 players, granted, the 2 Sacred Heart kids were a year older. Johns and Fox are headed towards UCR, a mid-major most Hoya fans have never heard of. I've also seen other top 2013 players like Gordon and Bird live. Domingo could catch up, but he has a lot of ground to make up. I hope he does, because he has a good head on his shoulders. But Big East competitors won't care about that.

I'm hearing he might go to Findlay Prep for a year. That sounds good to me.

Projection is about what a player can do when talking HS to college.
Local fans like to focus on what a player can't do and on team results. This is a huge mistake. Projection is about tools, work ethic and what a player can do. He'll have an infinitely better coach and better teammates in college. He'll be playing a completely different role and likely be a 2. It's pointless to even talk about strength -- if that's a plus for you in high school, then downgrade your projection because you lose that advantage quickly as you move up the ladder.
He has the skillset, size and athleticism to succeed.
Is Aaron Gordon anything, personality-wise, like his brother? If so, I wouldn't care if he was LeBron on the court. Wouldn't touch that.

But Big East competitors won't care about that. I guess you didn't get the point of his post. Unless you're Brian Butch, top 30 (even top 50) recruits don't redshirt just to get stronger. And Georgetown doesn't redshirt players other than for medical reasons. The kid is not going to redshirt, nor should he.
