You appear to be missing the point. The guardian seems slimy. He seemed slimy before and after he was a 'lock' for Memphis. This only seems to bother you now that you lost out. It got really messy after that prep team got funded So is it safe to say you were ok with his hand being out and Memphis looking out for him?

We already got the 2 Lawsons with the hiring of Keelon Lawson but we can't hire Hamilton. He has no clue how to coach basketball and is way to obvious with cheating. Yeah we know we run in the middle ground, that's how we got Will Barton from up North. The difference between Barton's and Skal's posse is that Bartons were not so blunt about their demands to who would get their son. Gerald is a total idiot and doesn't know how to play the game. I hope Skal ditches him once he is in the NBA. I hate those kind of people.

Interesting tweet...
@goodmanespn: @garyparrishcbs Nice job. Also been told NCAA has already begun to build a file on Skal and his recruitment.

The saddest part about all that is the fact that Skal is probably the only one who will suffer. I'm sure nothing will happen to his "guardian" or the briefcases of cash he collected, nor will anything happen to Cal or whichever coach he ends up with. Nope, in the end it will just be the kid who gets hurt whether through ineligibility or worse.

Wow. That is a great read. I wish college basketball writers did pieces like this more often. In all honesty, if the guardian is really peddling Labissiere like a commodity, and Labissiere can't control that for whatever reason, Georgetown is a good place for him. No way III let's that guardian around Labissiere once he sets foot on campus. Too bad it won't happen.

The story just got picked up by Deadspin as well, so it's starting to break out of the recruiting/college bball press. I personally don't like that the gtown name is still involved with this kid at all, even if it's clear we won't get him...

This is exactly why I didn't like posters thumbing their noses at TigerJ/Memphis or being snarky towards him/Memphis no matter how annoying he became.. It's hard to tell people they stink when you're standing in the same cesspool.. This quote here from the article is eye-opening imo: "Multiple coaches who have recruited Labissiere told CBSSports.com Hamilton either directly indicated or strongly suggested pursuing Labissiere would mostly be a waste of time if they couldn't offer assistance in helping fund his foundation. One coach from a prominent staff said: "We couldn't even get in the door." Another added: "We recognized what it was about early on and decided not to get involved."My hope is that Hamilton allowed G'town to stay in it to help make the recruitment look above board.. As it stands now all the schools involved with him look bad..

Etomic, thanks to TigerJ, we don't look anywhere as bad as Tiger High or Lexington. It's not like GU can do that anyway. If we had boosters handing out that kind of scratch, all the men's bball schollies would be endowed by now. LOL.

I'm fine with pursuing a kid with sketchy people around him as long as the staff lets the kid know that he's being offered a scholarship and an education and his handlers are not going to attend classes or play ball so they'll, consequently, be getting nothing.

Not directly related, but FWIW Memphis just lost exhibition in OT to DIV 2 Christian Brothers University.

I'd rather lose the last game of the year than the first. No brainer.

As it stands now all the schools involved with him look bad.. I would usually be feeling the same thing - thinking that the Hoyas are looking bad for even being involved for as long as they were. Can't pinpoint exactly why but I am NOT getting that vibe this time around. Perhaps it is because the slime factor was out in the open, and out staff has gotta be too smart to mess around with stuff like that. Also, we really don't need Skal at all - would have been nice to have him, but our recruited bigs are just fine, thank you.

Hey, I'm impressed. The Tigers did take Christian Brothers to overtime. Nothing like free basketball against a D-2 team.
