I still think it's going to be harder to replace Clark's minutes than Henry's time on the court. Even before this signing. I'd feel better with an actual PG on the roster. JTIII either can't recruit one or prefers scoring guards (undersized 2 guards seem to fit the mold) who can play the point, I think it's probably a bit of both.

just read this: With the addition of Hayes, the Hoyas now have 11 players on the roster 6'5 or taller. Wow thats long! Doesn't sound right since Markel and DSR aren't that tall and we still have a free scholarship. 10 maybe. And that's probably a bit generous to Trawick who I'd put at 6'4. Still good to be tall though. Well Caprio is on the team, not on scholarship, and I think listed at 6'6.

So what does GU have at guard? PG - Starks, DSR, Trawick (spot), 2G - Trawick, Bowen (please!), Whittington (perhaps)....

We've really been active in the spring the past few years. By my count:
Hayes (2012) Porter (2011) Whittington (2011) Ayegba (2010) Sanford (2009) Benimon (2009)
Two hits, two misses, and two TBD.

Starks/DSR at the 1, Whitt/Trawick/Bowen in that order at the 2 is what I'd guess. I guess you could potentially have Trawick at the 1 but I don't recall him playing there much last year since Jason took over PG duties when Starks was sitting. Whittington is a 2 guard, believe it or not, and I think if he can put it together, he could be a special player for us.

He'll be a beast in a couple of years. Very happy to have him!!
PS - Otto will still be seeing plenty of minutes at the 4.

Congrats to the kid, his family and the GU staff! Welcome!
"The kid can run like a deer, has soft hands and has finally embraced his size and gifts," Todd Washington, a Hayes family friend and founder of the Puerto Rico Playmakers, told SNY.tv. "He didn't always take basketball seriously but he is focused and prepared."
"He has a chance to be a pro," Antwan Tennell, Hayes' AAU coach with the Dwight Howard Warriors, told SNY.tv. "He actually grew seven inches in like five months a year and a half ago. He has finally caught up to his size. He moves like a guard. He runs the floor rim-to-rim."

Article lists him at 230 lbs, but earlier article had him listed at 250lbs. that is a difference of 20 lbs. That would make a big difference in the BE. If he weighs 230 and will not be 18 until August then redshirting him would not be out of the question. I think it will depend on the health of Adams. If he is healthy then the Hoyas have the luxury of letting letting this be a BE learning year for Bolden only. Then bring Hayes in for the next year.

Can anyone remember a Hoya redshirt that was not due to injury? I can't.
