Just wanted to make sure I'm not the only one, as I am pretty sure I am not. I received my season ticket renewal in the mail today? Really? Guess we're really expecting a deep run in the BET and NCAA. Deadline is April 15th. What I like is that the ticket office can serve me better by providing interest-free payments. Really? SMH.

You mock it now, but after our 10-game winning streak, you'll be so far at the back of the line for seats for next year you'll be in the overflow viewing area at McDonough (probably not, but why take the chance?!).

Nice way to look at it. My initial reaction was "do they have so little faith in our March prospects that they are sending the renewal info out now"?

Not that I want to distract from the start of the tournament tomorrow, but is there any chatter about the accelerated season ticket renewal process this year?
The communications from the ticket office acknowledges that the process "traditionally begins in May or June" and while that may be the case, haven't we been able to put down a $100 deposit in June to hold our seats, with the balance due in September or October?
I don't see that as an option this year....am I misremembering or am I missing something in the fine print because it appears they want the balance now in April or some sort of payment plan.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks!

By my reading, we need to pay in full by April 15! Tax day. For some this may not be a big issue, but I will need every extra penny to pay my taxes (self-employed). There is a good chance I will be paying a lot more interest if I have to put it on my credit card!!

I need money to pay my taxes as well and I already contacted McD for poor choice of due date.

Thanks. I didn't realize there was a payment option. And, yes, I sent them a quick note myself as well.

This should be my 10th anniversary of season tickets. The catch is that I'm not going to pay by the 15th. I've talked to others that claim they won't be paying by that date either.
I'm going to roll the dice and see how 'understanding' the athletic department is on this one. I get the feeling that there isn't a huge waiting list but maybe I'm wrong.
Not everybody has tons of money to just throw at basketball tickets, especially at tax time. It would have been to nice to know about this huge change in payment policy a little bit earlier than one month in advance.

Just to clarify, there are 4 payment options:
1. Pay in full April 15 2. Pay half April 15, half later (not sure of the date). 3. Pay 10 installments, starting April 15. 4. Pay 12 installments, starting April 15.
You can see exactly what it will cost by signing in to your 'MyHoyas' account.
None charge interest, but all have a $15 shipping and $3 TM charge (per order, not per seat).
So you can pay as little as 1/12 of the cost of your seat by April 15 to renew.

I wrote a rather stern email to the ticket office about the poor choice of April 15th. I was told in Columbus I'd get a reply soon. I didn't get one until last night and it was an incredibly insulting form letter.

NJIT, well, I don't know about that. I would like to see some more home and away series like we had with Memphis, we could handle to 2 home and 2 roadies each year. I know we will bei seeing Memphis every year, but how about Butler, Vandy, Xavuer other than NJIT?

Re: scheduling, it's worth a reminder that Georgetown is the only school in the Big East (now or in the 18-team configuration in 2013) that has third-priority rights to dates in its facility behind the NBA and NHL, making long range scheduling very difficult. (Seton Hall and Memphis will have one pro team to schedule around this year, while Villanova and St John's still play most non-conference games on campus.)
As schedules are being worked on right now by teams, Georgetown can't make commitments as quickly, and last year's weak home schedule is evidence of what happens when better teams go elsewhere and it's left with NJIT. I think there will be some indigestion, after all this rush to get season ticket revenue in so early, if a weak home schedule returns again in 12-13.
FWIW, schools like Xavier (and perhaps Butler, if they join the A-10) do not need to schedule another game in Washington because they're already playing GW. This will be another reason the GU-Syracuse series probably goes away, because Syracuse will play Maryland on a divisional basis and the administrative interest by Syracuse in giving up home revenue in the Carrier Dome to schedule another game in DC may not be as strong as some fans think it will be.

I agree DFW...I will be very upset if the home schedule is not significantly better than last year, almost to the point of not renewing if the OOC home schedule is just as weak.
